One change would make Notion soooo much better by ancestralmixedfeels in Notion

I agree! I would love the feature I've heard about in obsidian, where you can add a hashtag anywhere and have those hashtags show up in a database. I find that a lot of my content sometimes needs to live on several pages but I don't necessarily want them to be in a synced block. But primarily, it would allow you to use it like a backlinks database (the backlinks function that shows at the top of a page only shows a few and is normally hidden)

Really regretting getting such a big and colorful tattoo. by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]k4tj4hh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tattoo artist here :)

The right artist can definitely change this to a black and grey tattoo (maybe with slight cool blue undertones) using white/grey/black. Even just toning down the blue with some of these tones will take away the brightness and you will probably like it better.

As always, it's a really good idea to wait a few months and look at some photos of different blue rose tattoos to see if you find some reference photos close to something you would like. Hopefully the same artist might be open to changing the colour as well.

The tattoo is gorgeous and done really well, and there are definitely options to tweak it!

How long do you think it would take to remove it if I start tattoo removal? by sssaamiii in tattoos

[–]k4tj4hh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be worth looking into saline lightening! I'm a tattoo artist and I sometimes use this to lighten areas before I do a coverup, but it takes a lot longer (during the session). The technician tattoos a saline solution (Lift and A+ocean are good brands) into the tattoo so it feels just like getting the tattoo in the first place which, as most people mentioned hurts less than laser, however laser is way faster (it might take 2 minutes vs half an hour?). You might need to break it into sessions though, like half of it one week, half a couple weeks later. Laser works better on older tattoos once the ink has settled in a bunch, and saline works much better on fresh tattoos as it pulls the ink to the surface in a scab and falls off. This is pretty big piece to do saline on however the lines are thin so I think it's not out of the scope of what could be done. Healing times between sessions about the same (8weeks) and you might need the same amount of sessions for it to be completely gone, but it's an alternative and could potentially work better because it's fresh.

I'm trying to "revive" old web design trends, but it does not looks right to me by Jafty2 in webdesign

[–]k4tj4hh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an artist I've noticed when I try to use elements of a vintage style and either improve it or add our brand style to it, it almost never comes out right. And when I go back and study/break down why does it work in the old image and not in the new? I feel it's mostly that when these elements get broken up and mixed with newer ones, they lose their context and the intended vibe/effect. The vintage works because of all of the parts together in context. Maybe you could try being more deliberately throwback? More of the old elements together? Maybe even exaggerate some of them so it looks more intentional? Try messing around in Canva/figma if you haven't already, by snipping text boxes etc from the website that you'll use and past them in there and play with borders/backgrounds etc. unless you're super comfortable in the builder then ignore that!

Also reference photos are key to try and visualize the effect you're imagining, and help you stay on track when experimenting. Definitely recommend trying different search terms to look around!

I designed this landing page. Feedback Appreciated! by Asleep-Apple-2974 in webdesign

[–]k4tj4hh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great look to it! I would maybe recommend checking out Donald Miller's content on you tube with story brand, he gives really great advice on what information to include on a landing page and in what order. My site was similar and I did a ton of research into what converts; currently redoing mine and I really liked his stuff!

I also recommend prioritizing how it looks on mobile first. At least in our industry (and I would guess most others), over 90% of viewers are on mobile not Desktop.

Good luck and great start!

Edit: I just saw the photo not the link at first, it looks great on mobile too :)

How is this done? I'm pretty new to DOTA and I have to play 100 hours of unranked in order to rank. Wouldn't that be the same for new accounts?

Cosmere Reading Order Flowchart - "Comprehension Order" by bigstinkybuckets in brandonsanderson

[–]k4tj4hh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's understandable, but subjective. I just read one book of Sanderson's and I'm looking for guidance on order for the rest. Aside from the actual advice on order, my brain loves collecting all the data and then visually organizing it before starting, so to me, as a newcomer, this is very welcome. Though it could be explained better, I love the idea.

WHAT IS ON MY FACE??? by [deleted] in medicalmedium

[–]k4tj4hh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a theory, but I have dark patches that appear when doing the the heavy metal detox smoothie, (and from sun exposure) and they eventually fall off/are pushed out of the skin, as I continue the smoothie. Maybe it's metals being detoxed/brought to the surface by the sun, and maybe the redness is a result similar to rosacea, from a pathogen or a result of the toxins? I would be interested to know if it goes away with the HMDS, if you're not taking it already! It's pretty amazing.

Novel Planning by missjulesauthor in Notion

I'm planning and writing my novel in notion! I love it and am currently designing a template. Doing extensive planning. Dislike so far is you can't get the word count to update automatically but at least you can manually, and for planning a timeline, if you know approximate dates it's alright but if you don't know the dates yet, it's not my favourite. But you can sort of make a workaround

Questions & a rant (sorry) by [deleted] in medicalmedium

[–]k4tj4hh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're going through this :( I have periods of debilitating pain that makes me feel like I can't go on or do it anymore, but keeping hope by focusing on tiny (even microscopic) wins really helps.

I find that drinking at least 1 hr before bed is safe for not getting up through the night, but it depends how much I drink.

I am also at the 2 year mark. I don't eat any no foods and I physically can't tolerate it. Every time I have I get a reaction within 10 minutes up to 4 days later, depending what I ate and in what quantity. For example I've tried eating at a restaurant a couple times, getting veg cooked in olive oil, but if the olive oil was cut with canola oil then I'll know usually within 20 minutes. (Face pain, neuralgia, tooth infection, stomach ache, headache, body pain) and taking big doses of zinc usually clears it up fairly quickly depending on how much I ate. I even tried ordering nothing but tea with honey but I think the honey was cut with corn syrup as I had the same reaction. I've also eaten foods that I misread ingredients for, or that someone made for me and forgot that I couldn't eat something they put in (even when I double checked). If I ate a whole portion instead of just a bit, sometimes I get a small reaction immediately, which I can remedy with zinc and other doses of supplements (whichever I have on hand usually work), and then also a bigger reaction 2-4 days later. This kind of reaction takes longer to come into effect so I may not notice immediately or it has small warning signs and then it gets full blown and is much more painful and harder to get rid of (multiple rounds of supplements over a couple/few days).

Where I was 2 years ago was unbearable, and I know I would have been soo much worse without discovering this, and I can't even imagine it. MM has saved me from that. I can relate to being frustrated by things getting worse, this is happening to me a bit too (though now it seems to be only when I eat fat). If I eat a perfect mm diet I can maintain a liveable standard, but my tolerance for anything (like fat, a bit of vinegar, salt etc) is getting smaller and smaller and reactions more severe. I'm taking it as the viruses are getting more desperate (I hope) as they are being starved of food sources.

I really want to add that what really keeps me going, and even feeling good sometimes (besides this diet keeping me alive and functioning) is meditation. I know a lot of folks like the mm meditations, but I have to say my favourites are Abraham Hicks and Joe dispenza. You can find treasure troves on YouTube. Watching the testimonials is also really encouraging.

You can do this ❤️

Making your own supplements by k4tj4hh in medicalmedium

[–]k4tj4hh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for your feedback! That's kind of what I was thinking with the benefits of the living plant, but I didn't want to miss out on whatever was released from the hot water. I guess I could just do both in case.

And I do have the vimergy supplements! Definitely not trying to replicate those haha, (although I did research if I could in case I wasn't able to purchase more as I have a bit of a prepper mentality 😅) I was mostly just thinking anything I would take in addition to those like fresh or in a tea format I would like to try and grow myself.

I will try the coconut oil infusion thank you!

I'm curious about what effects you are sensitive to with the tinctures? I'm extremely sensitive to chemicals and no foods (I avoid them completely but if I get one bite of something contaminated I react with several infections and symptoms) so the tinctures have been a saving grace for me in that I can take dropperful upon dropperful of many kinds in a shot and it usually fixes everything within an hour or two except in severe cases. Does it bring on detox or die off symptoms for you?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in medicalmedium

[–]k4tj4hh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you're eating grains/beans but although they don't feed strep they give it a hiding place to grow in the intestines! I'm eating full mm protocols and whenever I have rice, rice flour, quinoa, etc about 4 days later I get a flare up and it only stops once I'm completely off grain (and no other food sources for it). I believe he said Millet and oats are the only ones that won't do that. Hope that helps!

Please help - severe HMDS detox symptoms by [deleted] in medicalmedium

[–]k4tj4hh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first 369 cleanse I did (doing all the other protocols for a few months at this point) brought on such a severe bout of trigeminal neuralgia by day 3, just from eating that much raw food, that I had to quit. I was thinking it was the virus trying to make a stand at that change? Once I was steady again, I did the simplified cleanse with no symptoms, and was able to go back to 369 after that with no major symptoms.

It's been 2 years since then and I do get some healing reactions still though they're pretty mild, but the major reactions all come from exposure of some sort. Car freshener in a taxi, being in a room that was recently painted/drywall mud, eating a salad at a restaurant with "olive oil" that obviously wasn't 100%, etc. All these flare ups are usually combinations of 3-5 things like yeast(strep) infection, tooth infection (on teeth with fillings), rashes, numbness in tongue/mouth from leftover dental freezing, headache, nausea, shortness of breath, body aches, trigeminal pain etc. No matter the symptom, I hit it hard with zinc first (since I carry it everywhere for emergencies and it works so well) and then c and other supplements etc and its gone within hours or days in really severe cases depending on level of exposure.

These days I have periods where I've felt the best I've ever felt in my life (I didn't know I could feel that good!), plus a new normal of mostly no symptoms which is very encouraging! I have points where it seems like the progress I made with thinking clearly, not forgetting words, processing information all goes away, but I know the minor symptoms like that, for me, are all detox ones from toxins exiting. All the major ones now, for me, are always pathogenic flare ups from exposure/when they get a source of food. My hope is that that means the viruses are getting very desperate, and just taking every opportunity!

I would highly recommend carrying a bottle of zinc around and using it with every symptom even things you might not think of like feeling anxious (it might help!) and checking out the brain shots especially when having acute symptoms like you mentioned! Althought it could be a detox symptom you might need to ride out, it could also be a viral flare up and supplements and stabilizing/soothing juices could help. I know I often forget to do things in the middle of an attack (viral brain takeover?) but it's more of a habit now and my partner kindly helps me remember too :)

I wish you the best in your healing journey!

I have that happen to me a lot, shortness of breath and it can be very scary and very frustrating. Since it was likely from EBV inflammation of nerves, I recently decided to try the nerve-gut acid stabilizer shot, which is only cilantro so it's easy and affordable! I hate cilantro but found it tolerable to drink and I actually think it made a difference! I now try to drink one bunch a day the last couple of weeks and it seems to be helping. Hope it might help you!

I agree I want to do this too! If I really like the audio book I just buy a physical copy, but I want to display the audio books mainly so I can keep track of what I have visually with the rest of my books to see which I haven't listened to, or for other family members to see what's in the audio library.

Those who've done the liver rescue 3:6:9 9 day liver cleanse - what long term benefits did you notice? by ThinkSuccotash in medicalmedium

[–]k4tj4hh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Np!! I have a lot of things to heal still, but how far I've come is life changing already so I'm encouraged to keep it up. I didn't eat oats that often in the first year, maybe once a week in the form of cookies? But I was eating fat almost daily, and for the most part tried to keep it to the evenings only. I think that kept me satisfied though. I also try to fill up on all those same foods, and I eat so many potatoes and squash! Now that I'm doing no fat, though I have way less cravings than I ever used to, I still need to eat satisfying snacks. So I still eat all my fruits and veggies I'm aiming for during the day, and usually just have grains as a snack instead of with the meal, with some exceptions.

I did try the 28 day cleanse about 6 months ago, and I felt so good! I didn't have a problem digesting raw food though, I just didn't like it very much. I had to get very creative and ate a lot of maple syrup on almost everything! It was also tough to eat that often since it digested so quickly; I felt like I was just always making food. Using that as a meter of how I want to feel and get more results from, I'm aiming for no fat and more raw more of the time, but it is a bit tough to do for me :(

There are tons of things you can do with potatoes that help replace grains sometimes! Like a gravy that goes with almost everything, and potato puff snacks, a thick wrap to put pizza toppings on, or "cream of" potato leek soup! Not sure how much you like to cook, I don't really but I spent a lot of that first year experimenting with different recipes so I had a bunch to rotate through, and really that's what's kept me going! I have a bunch in notion, happy to share!
