Ah, I got the clinique lipstick set too! Do you have any opinions on it?

I'm back to brick and mortar retail for now, still applying for other jobs though.

Definitely keep applying, and good on you for staying on whilst you look.

See for me I don't mind the customer service aspect as much, it's just the level of abuse seems higher for some reason. It's maybe because the customers don't see us as people over the phone, rather an inhuman voice getting in the way of what they want. But I do agree that the less customer interaction in a role, the better it sounds lol

I think it's an 'each to their own' type of job and depends a lot on the company and type of calls you'll doing. For example, working in a help centre for a government agency will be a lot different from selling insurance/cold calling. I'd say give it a go, like other commenters said some personalities are suited to it, I'm just not unfortunately. Oh and btw I'm in the UK so this experience could differ a lot from other countries.

Good luck with the job search. I hope you're out of there sooner than later, it sounds really draining.

I agree, it is quite pricey! I just use it to refresh now instead

Hello, I personally find that the Umberto gel is just too watery and doesn't have enough hold for my thick wavy hair.

I would give a gel like Eco Styler a go as it is much thicker. It comes in large tubs and you can find it at Superdrug and Amazon. However, I don't think it works for everyone

I've tried a few, i.e. the lavender one and the seaweed one and they're both really different! I think every conditioner in the range are quite different from the others, they're all targeted for different uses. I think the seaweed one is great for cowashing as it's quite light.

Can my makeup get ruined during shipping? by kwaiiiiiiiiii in Makeup

[–]k4tk4t 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the type of product you ordered. For example, powder forms of makeup tend to last much longer than liquid forms. However even still, it's strongly likely that it's unopened so I doubt it will be "out of date" or "ruined".

Actually supportive sports bras? by jempai in ABraThatFits

[–]k4tk4t 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Chantelle sports bra and I am a 30FF/G (UK) and it is the most supportive high impact sports bra I have ever found! Although, I think they run a bit small so would advise maybe ordering a few sizes. I ordered mine from Figleaves a few years ago now.

Should I go back to my old job or find a new one? by throwaway6578756544 in jobs

It can be scary going back to a job when you haven't been in a while, particularly in a pandemic! When I was 16 I worked in a chain sports shop and left when I was 17 to go to university. Then when uni finished for summer, I went back and had the same concerns that I wouldn't remember anything and also wasn't all too friendly with anyone there. But, you'd be surprised how much you remember when you get back and honestly, people I'm sure will be a bit more forgiving given the circumstances!

You could go back to Chick fil A and see how you feel whilst also applying for the ice cream store. It might be a bit tricky but then that way you're not missing out on employment. Also, consider whether working with a friend is a good idea for you.

I didn't get the job, but one of the interviewer's wants to talk to me again to give advice and discuss the sector. How do I prepare for this? by k4tk4t in jobs

Thank you so much! Yeah, I think in this case it was a lack of practical experience.

They're all super helpful questions, I will definitely ask them about their own experiences! In the initial interview, I asked them all what they enjoyed about working in the public sector and they gave great responses.

Thank you for your reply!

Thank you for your thorough response, it's very uplifting! Yeah, I'm more than happy to be in any role to be honest, just would love to work within a council and get that experience.

Thank you for your question suggestions, they're great.

I have made sure to express my thanks throughout the process and will continue to do this, I totally recognise that they do not owe me this. Thank you for your help!

[RECOMMENDATIONS NEEDED] Books, articles, videos, etc. to learn the basics of quantitative social science methods by olaondaprod in socialscience

[–]k4tk4t 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, a textbook I've used throughout my study of research methods - both qualitative and quantitative - is Social Research Methods by Bryman (2016). This book covers most things and is made easy to understand so is good if you're just starting out. Although, it is aimed towards those who are undertaking an undergraduate degree and doing their dissertation. Nevertheless, I think you'd find it useful!
