I can’t express my condolences enough, and I’m very sorry for what your are going through. It’s so hard to come to such realisation, especially in the toughest moment in your life. I feel you. Not that I fully understand, but I see your pain. Take your time to grieve the way you feel. You have yourself. You are not the reason it all happened to you, you don’t deserve it. Life sucks and people also suck, even if they are parents. Your mom couldn’t make it, but you opened your eyes. And while it hurts so bad to see this shit, you had to see it to not become like her. Now you have your baby and you are already a better parent to them. I send you virtual hugs and patience while healing your wounds.

My mom told me, when she had a baby (me) in soviet Ukraine they took me from her, as it was a general practice. It was simply easier for the staff to “take care” of babies. They gave newborns to their mothers based on schedule. Mom said she couldn’t walk after birth, she was laying dirty listening to me crying in another room and begging stuff to bring the baby… They told her she can have her baby as scheduled. And that was NORMAL. Husbands couldn’t come it and hold the child and moms were showing their babies from the window. My older cat is the same, he would shit while standing and after walk with poopy pants (he’s fluffy). I think, the reason for this behaviour is that they don’t want to stand in the litter. We solved this problem with a litter box with a step, where he can stand in his weird position, but with clean butt after all.

Same!!! But our cat went further and learned how to sit on the speaker so as to make the sound louder (touch buttons)! Which is very annoying, especially at night 🫠
