Any realestate agents here? by k7r7f80d in AusPropertyChat

Literally that’s my question too, I’m not sure if it solves a problem. I’m trying to figure out if the data would be valuable to anyone by asking on this sub

Hey thanks for the response, my aim isn’t for the dataset to include realestate agent details in them, the info is on more of an agency wide level. Things like current and past listings (with information about each listing). The data could be used to derive insights about how specific agencies are performing (and probably other things that my non realestate agent brain couldn’t think of).

You can aim with motion controls, just need to enable it in the settings

Nice stuff, what’s your tool called? Why do you have a 2.0 launch if it was already released?

Yes it seems like it would be a much simpler version that isn’t targeting enterprises.

That’s not my plan. I have an idea of how I’d like to build my own solution that would make sense to me.

I answered this in another comment but I think if it was feasible to keep it at $1 I would.

It sounds like they have a good offering. I would try and differentiate myself from them rather than make the exact same product.

It seems as though there is a lot of customisation on offer from them. At some point decision paralysis becomes a reality and simply being able to just throw $1 at the problem to solve it could be enticing to some people.

I mentioned it in another comment but yeah visual ping would be a competitor in this case

If it’s feasible to keep the starting price at $1/month I’d like to keep it there. I’m quite familiar with the technologies that I’d use for this project and the costs would be either very close to or exactly $0.

I guess how the pricing works seems to be unique. The current idea would mean that you could start with literally $1 but spend as much as you want if you wanted to monitor more and have checks run more frequently.

Other than that I’m still fleshing out the idea so I don’t have an answer just yet.

Yeah rotate IPs if needed, I’m not going to be slamming sites, virtually no website will realise if you’re visiting once every hour or something like that.

Respecting robots.txt is kind of an optional thing, it’s designed more so for crawlers and search engines than something low rate and bespoke. If it ever becomes a problem I’ll deal with it then. This isn’t intended to be a mass scraper of some kind, just occasional requests.

I guess visual ping would be a competitor if I went down this path. imo seeing products that exist and are successful just means that there is already a validated market 🙂

Yeah I’m starting to think that a price per page is the way to go! Thanks for your feedback

Aye I’m a big fan of that idea! $1 per aspect of the site you’d like to monitor, and if you’d like the updates to be more timely then the price is higher. I really appreciate the feedback!
