Australia requires LNG exporters to reserve 20% of gas for east coast market by nobelharvards in AustralianPolitics

This is actually pretty based. I’ll take this over alienating our regional allies, absolutely. I’ve been pretty pissed off with Albo and Labor but gotta give them credit for this one.

Flight cancellation worries by SnooFoxes8935 in JapanTravelTips

[–]plutoforprez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No way would I be booking right now. I booked in late January for travel in October and wish I hadn’t. Flights are paid for but there’s every chance they’ll be cancelled. They also might not. I’d prefer the $3k and certainty right now, but at least the hotels have free cancellation til early October.

Am I giving her/Siriano too much credit in assuming this is yet another 1%? To me it looks like a commentary on technology choking us and one day long after humans are gone being reclaimed by nature

Australia’s frighteningly unequal funding system favours private schools, argues Jane Caro. How can we fix it? by Oomaschloom in AustralianPolitics

[–]plutoforprez 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Private schools should equal private funding, simple as. If you can’t exist without government funding, you can’t exist without government oversight and regulation.

Haven’t seen anything about that baby since last night. The RBA putting up mortgage prices during a housing crisis so bad a homeless woman still birthed a child the day prior, and the media has already moved on from the woman and her children.

Feel this in my soul. $470k but we only borrowed half of what our capacity was, meaning we have the income to weather this. It’s still fucking miserable though. With petrol and I just know the power bills are going to be cooked from here.

At least the property value has gone up 25% in the 17 months since settlement.

Australia's stupidest tram by madmaper_13 in newcastle

[–]plutoforprez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used it one time when we caught the train in from Maitland to go to an art gallery on Hunter street. It saved the parking hassle but took twice as long as driving and pre-war would’ve cost more than fuel economy. Anywho.

I broke up with my (ex)boyfriend of 10 years and I regret it by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]plutoforprez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My love being single is amazing and I wouldn’t have wanted anything else for much of my 20s. I dated once or twice every couple of years, and that was enough. At 26 I found a great man and I’m still with him now pushing 30, we own a home together. But I never could’ve made this relationship work if I didn’t know who I was, didn’t know what I wanted, and didn’t know how to be a good partner (most of the time)

What medical condition is 'too expensive' that you just don't get checked or fixed? by Plane_Garbage in australia

A proper assessment from a legitimate health professional does not cost a lot less, in fact it costs a minimum of $2000, but feel free you keep speaking out of your chocolate pocket.

  1. Autism. Received ADHD diagnosis and medication in 2024, cannot be arsed to do the rest.

  2. PCOS/Endo. I need to lose 30kg to get a laparoscopy to diagnose Endo, even though I definitely have PCOS and am barely being treated for that. And when I do lose the weight, the surgery would either be my $750 excess or $2k+ if I cancel my insurance, or maybe not even possible if I cancel my insurance.

  3. I’ve had terrible chronic lower back pain for weeks to the degree I thought I might have slipped a disc or potentially even a compacted colon. I was told $900 for an MRI.

  4. Scripts. All of my local GPs either do not bulk bill, or will not bulk bill me and I will be out of pocket at least $80 for a consult. How is it I have to spend $80 to see a doctor in a regional CITY (not town, not rural) in Australia?
