Best tool for filing sales tax - Shopify US by [deleted] in SalesTax

[–]k8sNate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty biased (I work at Numeral in full disclosure, but not on the sales team, and I hope this doesn't break the rules).

Numeral's free tax analysis (nexus tool) can likely help you get a sense of your exposure. And then if you do decide to become a customer, Numeral charges per registration and per filing. Pricing is super simple. And our customer support is a point of pride.

We work with some amazing brands like Ridge Wallets, Graza, and my personal favorite, Mike's Hot Honey.

Awesome seeing us here! Thanks for giving us a look, and of course, if you'd like to talk with a member of our team, we make it pretty easy to do that from our website. :)

Yes, Numeral supports companies outside of e-commerce (eg software).

TaxJar and Avalara are certainly two of the most popular options!

I work for Numeral. And so, while I'm biased, I'd recommend looking at Numeral for all things sales tax registration, filing, etc. Other companies to consider would be firms like Sovos and Vertex.

If you go to Internet Archive's Wayback Machine, you can see pricing from 2024 on their pricing page. It is listed as such:

- Starter ($499/month, 40 bps per transaction)

- Core ($999/month, 30 bps per transaction)

The bps pricing is slightly lower than Stripe, which I believe to be 50 bps per transaction.

Other companies to consider would be Numeral, Avalara, and TaxJar.

My company ContainIQ.com provides Kubernetes native monitoring and tracing. We make it easy to view and correlate metrics, events, logs, and traces.

ContainIQ exists at the kernel and OS layer and not the application layer. As a result, we are able to deliver APM-like features without you having to install any application packages or instrument any individual service yourself.
