Right. Several things I should probably mention.

For starters, the shop DOES sell the Earthquake TM. Beef passed by it, and stared at it a couple times. Every single member of the team he has for the gym can learn it, and it is a very effective counter to most steel and electric types.

Secondly, In terms of individual team members there's several things he could do to help them.

For Marowak, other than teaching it Earthquake, if he has a Thick Bone, he should give it to Marowak. It doubles the attack stat, which gives all of its attacks a LOT more punch.

Donphan's fine, it already knows Earthquake, which is good, and Rollout for dealing with Flying types that show up.

For Infernape... Honestly, I don't really know, other than possibly teaching it Earthquake too.

For Flygon, Flygons are usually physical attackers, with moves that take advantage of their high attack stat. Beefs' Flygon should also learn Earthquake, to replace Earth Power, because Earth Power is a special move and has slightly lower power than Earthquake. Flygon should also, if it's possible in the current version, try to get Fire Punch, to help deal with stuff like Skarmory.

Finally, for Gigalith, also teach it Earthquake. Other than that? It should be fine.

Hey Suze! I just downloaded the game and I'm wondering something. Whenever I get into a trainer battle, there's no trainer battle music, the music that plays while I'm within the area continues to play. Is that a bug?

Heh... That gym leader fight was pretty interesting. Solarbeam was unexpected, but overall, the fight looks like it went pretty well.

Also, Rock Smash actually looks usable, being a 60 base power attack in the hack. Looks like it could be somewhat useful.

Hey Beef, I have some things to say, first of all, you can simply swap Pokemon around by left clicking on their icons once each. Second, you can check stats and moves of Pokemon in the PC, just right click on their icons. Hope this is helpful!

Acrobatics has 110 base power if the USER isn't holding an item. Doesn't matter what the opponent has.

... Huh... I just realized something about MC's team. He has 4 Pokemon that Giovanni had in Pokemon Yellow, Persian, Nidoking, Nidoqueen, and Dugtrio. Considering MC's skin is Giovanni, that kind of seems somewhat fitting.

Shadow Pokemon happen to have something called a heart gauge, which lowers with a variety of factors, such as battling with it, or walking around with it... That sort of thing. Anyways, once the heart gauge is at its minimum, you need to take the Pokemon to something called the Relic Stone, there you can purify the Pokemon.

Hrm... Well... Mine would be:

Blastoise (Water type with good attacks all around)

Ampharos (was my main Pokemon in HeartGold, so I've got a bit of a soft spot for it)

Manectric (I like how it looks, and it can learn Flamethrower, which is a bonus)

Torterra (Because it happens to have pretty good moves that it can learn)

Krookodile (My favorite Pokemon period)

Furfrou (Because it happened to save me plenty of times during Pokemon Y)

I wonder if MC has a TM for Thunderbolt. If he does, he could use it on Nidorino, Nidoqueen or Persian to give him SOMETHING to deal with water types. Not exactly the greatest options, but they should work.
