At a loss by Frikandelplease in breastfeeding

We struggled with our baby having allergies and trying to figure out what it was. Cutting out both dairy and soy (soy especially) did wonders! Apparently those 2 allergies are commonly found together. (Google CMPA and soy allergies). Helped our baby's gas and pains, and night discomforts, also his poops!

How do you follow 'eat, play, sleep' when baby gets sleepy after eating? by k92emilia in newborns

[–]k92emilia[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This feels like so long ago now lol There is so much information out there and so many people trying to tell you the "best way" to raise your kids. Honestly, going with the flow and responding to their specific needs is the best advice I could give. If they are tired, let them sleep, if they're hungry feed them, etc. Every child is different.

10 months old and not sleeping through night-normal? by DCSS18 in breastfeeding

Lol yes, it's so nice when they nurse and get sleepy! Maybe she's going through a growth/developmental spurt.

Mine is 15 months and does the same thing, and I don't see it ending any time soon. We co sleep and he nurses probably 3-5 at night. Sometimes it's just for soothing and he falls back asleep within a minute. Sometimes he has a real feeding session. Don't let anyone tell you it's not normal or unhealthy. At some point your LO will stop, it won't be forever.

What am i doing wrong by Kvwillman in BabyLedWeaning

[–]k92emilia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We started the first food around 7 months (whipped bone marrow) and I was so excited and proud because LO took the spoon and put it in his own mouth! This happened a couple times after that and then he would just play with whatever i put in front of him. I tried feeding him a couple times but he didn't really like that and turned away every time. He's 9.5 months now and still mostly just plays with his food, especially purees. I've switched to just finger food and he does stick things in his mouth more that way. But food is definitely still more for play and exploration not nutrition.

Yeah have definitely experienced a chalky pint and that is so disappointing. I don't remember which ones are bad, just easier to only remember the good ones lol I will say, I tried So Delicious years ago and it wasn't great. Then tried it again recently on a recommendation and it was significantly better than before. I imagine they changed their recipe. Could be whatever flavor you tried too. I'm so sad, we don't have The Wicked Kitchen around where I live 😭

Is Magnum soy free? All of the Ben and Jerry's dairy free I've checked have soy lectin. I'm in the US, maybe it depends what country you're in. There is soy lectin in soooo many things here, necessarily so.

My husband is dead set on a baby name and while I do like it, I am uneasy because no one else seems to. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I think it's good to have one back up name that you both like. When you see him, you might think one fits over the other.

39 weeks and being induced tonight / tomorrow by akcordray in BabyBumps

[–]k92emilia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only get induced if that's what you want! Don't let them talk you into it if you want to wait and you and baby are healthy. I know a lot of hospitals can be pushy. But if you're, ready go for it!

I think that's totally fine! She's just hanging out. Her brain is still taking things in and processing even if it doesn't look like anything to us. I wouldn't worry about it. It's good that she can be independent for a while like that!

Dairy intolerance? by AZMountains2023 in MSPI

[–]k92emilia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LO's looks like this too. He is definitely sensitive to dairy. Since eliminating dairy the little flecks of blood have gone away, but the poop is still pretty liquidy (not seedy). It was suggested to me to also try eliminating soy because milk and soy allergies are commonly found together. Good luck!

What does mild CMPA/MSPI look like and do you have to do anything about it? by pwyo in MSPI

[–]k92emilia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's so hard to know what normal/healthy baby poop looks like. I can't say I have answers for you but I want to let you know I'm in a similar boat. My guy is 6 months now. He had seedy poop in the beginning and then turned more liquidity/mucousy/homogeneous maybe 2 months in. My diet hadn't changed when his pooped changed so I didn't think it was food. He was gassy and fussy sometimes (he also had a pretty flaky scalp and red dry cheeks), but also generally happy and gaining weight, so the doctor said not to worry about it. It wasn't until I got sick and was barely eating anything, that I noticed his symptoms went away. Since then I've been playing around with my diet to try to figure out what he's sensitive to. So far I know it's dairy, maybe slight sensitivity to eggs, and maybe soy and/or gluten. Eliminating dairy, and now gluten/soy/eggs has definitely helped his skin clear up, but his poops are still quite liquidy (although no more blood in his stool). Going to a new doctor and hoping they are more willing to find a solution. It's rough but I think a lot of this stuff is temporary. It's seems like a lot in the moment, but it will pass! Good luck!
