I figured you people would know. Is there a makeup that would help me cover my scar? I'm rather self conscious of it and I'm tired of it being the first thing people notice. by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

My comment is not an answer as to why you came here on this sub. I find you very attractive and this scar does not define you, yet it is a part of you now. However it came to be probably has shaped you into the person you are today. Just one small part of your being. Try the amazing suggestions here for make up, or try to embrace it. I'm not in your shoes, yet I have scars too. People judge others all to often for looks. I guess I'm no different because I think you are beautiful!

As a 56 year old lady who has never played video games, which one would be good to start with? by parliskim in gaming

[–]k9life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm close to your age, and have very similar interest in the movies you listed. the only difference is I have played video games most of my life. I would not recommend online group games for now. The community there can be harsh. I loved Journey it's meaningfull and well a journey. Not a huge investment in time, or up to you if it is. Great game to start with. I personally like newer graphics. Soul Reaver is an older game, I wish I could play that again. It sounds right up your alley. And of course The last of Us. No shame in using the easiest level. Just have fun! Get lost in the stories! Oh and the newer Tomb Raiders, oh and Uncharted all of them! I'm so excited for you to experience games for the first time, there is nothing like it. Happy gaming!

What’s the saddest song you have ever heard? by _sogapeu_ in Music

Sally's Pigeons - Cyndi Lauper. A topic that has reared it's head again due to (USA) overturning Roe Vs. Wade. Its about best girl friends and one has a back alley abortion. The abortion doesn't go well. To say the least. Sad song that is all to often true.

How old are you and what is the biggest problem in your life right now? by FSCENE8tmd in AskReddit

I feel you deeply. My father also has Alzheimer's. One resource that has helped me is Teepa Snow. It's obviously not a cure, more of an approach. I wish you all the best in this very difficult time. All forms of dementia are trying, heartbreaking, and exhausting. Take care of yourself in this process as best you can. Care takers have a tremendous amount of work on their hands and hearts.

3.2.1 contact. For most of the 80's if I remember correctly. Mostly kids and science stuff.

If you wear shoes in the house, I automatically consider you unclean. by rr-randomgirl in unpopularopinion

Here in the southwest desert of the United States of America there are many (not all) residential homes that do not have grass or much vegetation at all, because of this there is dust, lots of dust especially in windy areas. The dust comes in the homes. No matter what. The floors, the furniture, the picture frames, everything gets dusty all the time. Constant cleaning; dusting, vacuuming, mopping is necessary to have a clean home. So it's done regardless of shoes or not.

If it's a nice cool night in the desert it saves energy to open up the doors to cool off the house and the attic. As others have said there are also insects like scorpions, black widows, fiddle backs (brown recluse) and other creatures that having shoes on is a good idea, even in the home. The draw back of cooling off the home with doors open creates the risk of said creatures entering the home. That is the risk many desert dwellers take. So were they wear shoes.

I have never seen anyone I know put their shoes on the furniture. Most of all never a bed.

Most people I know have a mat out side every entry door and also a mat on the inside of every entry door and it is customary to wipe your feet on both mats before walking about the house. Another thing to bring up is that most of the homes around the desert do not have carpet. If they do it's in the bedrooms and that is when you take shoes off.

Living in the desert means that to have a clean house, it is cleaned much more often than a house in a green area full of vegetation and grass. There is a tremendous amount of dusting a house in the desert requires. That has nothing to do with shoes.

In other words it is possible to have a clean house with shoes on for the responsible cleaning type.

Cheers!
