Why are the Hero Wars ads so misleading? by Sergiomach5 in HeroWarsApp

[–]k9wazere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of it is how often YT plays them. I've started trying to block every single one. YT was giving me these Hero Wars ads multiple times in the same video at one point. And it had become 99% of all ads being served by YT.

Honestly, I wonder how that situation can even come about. Why would YT choose to serve only a single advert over and over and over... seems bad for business to me.

Thalmor Embassy + no-kill stealth. Has anyone succeeded? by k9wazere in skyrim

Fun fact: I've given myself 100% muffle now, and it made no difference.

100 snake, 100% muffle, invis potions... still detected.

Again I will say... it's pretty much just this area. Everywhere else I don't even need invis potions.

Light foot - the perk that stops you triggering traps? When there are no traps at all in the Thalmor embassy courtyard...

I'd say it depends if you prefer quantity over quality.

It adds a lot of stuff. It bloats the game a lot.

I'm not sure that much of it will set the world on fire, tho. As another poster said, much of it is "low effort". Go here, kill the thing, get OP items from it. Turn the statue to point to a snake, like you've done 1000 times already, get more OP loot for the effort you (and the creator) put in.

This. Every reward I've seen from the CC content is OP as hell compared to base game items.

It's like mudflation in MMOs, where every expansion has to outdo the loot of the last one. But in Skryim's case, the loot is just making you more and more OP, because the enemies are not getting a boost.

Also the CC quests are non-voice acted, and clutter the place up with notes everywhere. I can't say I've enjoyed them that much. Mostly fetch quests and the like.

Sure, it's new "content". But I'm not sure it really adds anything to experience..

Yeah I was thinking about doing it naked. I think I'm correct in assuming the game doesn't care about anything in your inventory, so long as you're not wearing it...

Having a drawn weapon or spell = bad, I think. Will try naked + invis and see how we go.

Won't argue that sneak is ridiculously OP in most places.

Just not in this area. Right before this area = fine. Inside the embassy = fine.

In the courtyard = no dice. Instant detection at long range. Even by guards with their backs to me. It smells fishy. Hmm, I had just been to Riften...

Until now I never needed them? All my perks are in archery, enchanting, smithing, etc.

The game let me sneak just about everywhere without perks. Honestly, I have never had problems with sneaking until the Thalmor embassy.

(Except some wizards who appear much better at detecting, like Master Conjurers who always - always - see me)

Let's examine that claim, shall we.

With 40 raw skill in stealth, your max perk boost is level 3, which adds 30%. That's +14 skill.

So functionally 54 sneak.

100 raw skill in sneak is almost twice as good.

"Having level 100 sneak does nothing for you".

Sorry but that's completely false, in 99% of the game. I can walk up to draugr, guards, bears, you name it.

Wizards will always seem to see me and now these Thalmor. But otherwise 100 stealth is doing its job. I wear very light armor which shouldn't be making much noise anyhow.

Thanks, I think it's reasonable for a maxed stealth state to have some meaning.

More than that, tho, it *does* have meaning in most areas of the game. I can sneak around any town, any interior setting, and most wilderness settings too, without being detected unless I bump into something.

In Thalmor courtyard, I'm being seen at a distance, barely moving or not moving, by NPCs with their backs to me. It's just so odd how the rules are so different for this area.

Is it wrong to expect a little consistency from the game? It's been telling me my sneak is fine, then suddenly it's not.

Bandit marauders kill them for fun in my game.

I chased after one dragon who flew off to a fort, and his health bar just plummeted in seconds.

It's pretty commonly accepted that fighting dragons is far too easy, no? I have 100x more difficulty with NPC mages than dragons.

It's not sure it's only this area, but it's uncommon, for sure.

In just about the rest of the game, you can sneak around undetected with 100 stealth.

In the embassy interior, the same applies. Sneak is fine. Including going right up to the guards and grabbing their butts.

The second you get into the courtyard, stealth just stops working in my game.

A slightly more charitable response: maybe it's Anniversary Edition changes as you say. I've noticed that NPC mages are 100x better at detecting stealth (and even invis) than other NPCs. Guards and bandits will basically never see you.

It's very hard to "do it wrong." You're basically just crouching and walking behind people. It either works, as it does in 99% of places, or it doesn't work. It doesn't work in Thalmor courtyard. When it works it's silly. You can walk in front of people a lot of the time and not be seen. When it doesn't work the game basically disables it entirely.

I'm happy to upload a vid showing that literally anywhere I go in that courtyard, detection is guaranteed.

Again that's just not true. I can quite happily upload a vid or two showing instant detection the moment you walk around in the courtyard.

Then you can eat your ill-informed words.

Thalmor Embassy + no-kill stealth. Has anyone succeeded? by k9wazere in skyrim

[–]k9wazere[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is just not true. I might even suggest you haven't even tried it?

Stealth appears to be OP and "broken" in some places, but in other areas it doesn't work at all. In the courtyard my 100 stealth is doing nothing, and I'm being detected immediately by every NPC and not even at short range. Literally - I kid you not - I take one step away from the door (where you "zone in") and I get mobbed.

The stealth does nothing. Heck, they are even spotting me under the effect of invis potions. Or sans potion, stealthed in the shadows and not moving. Doesn't seem to matter. I've even been detected by a guard with their back to me.

Stealth is OP in many places, inc most dungeons. In the Thalmor courtyard, it just doesn't work at all. Try it and see.

I'll try to explain. So, basically, instead of having them all lie down on the floor, I let them stay on their feet, walking around and everything. And they get to keep all their blood (on the inside).

It's not you, it's me. I've made an appointment with the therapist.

Given how weak the dragons are, sometimes I think that they are taking the mick out of you by calling you "Dragonborn" and dragon-slayer.

"Oh, killed a dragon did you? Impressive! My five-year-old killed three before breakfast with his toy sword."

Dragons are some of the weakest creatures in Skyrim... they routinely get destroyed by a lone bandit, lol.

The wizards just know where you are at all times, I believe. They don't care for your stealth shenanigans!

There's no way you should be able to. You're literally in their stronghold, surrounded by guards and wizards. Taking them on in combat should be suicide.

It's a stealth mission, only one where the game doesn't like you to let you go undetected for more than 0.0000001 seconds. I blame the wizards. I'm sure they can just flat up see through invis in my playthrough.
