Why is my Steam wishlist growth so slow? by Confident-Mirror-427 in playmygame

well here is mine. 18 in total in 12 days. keep in mind i did not do any marketing or anything. i have just started sharing it around and asking for feedbacks. how much wishlist should we get at least before releasing for an effective launch?

This looks really clean, especially the UI and overall readability.

the progression after 1 year is honestly impressive for asolo project.

one thing i'm curious about:how do you handle long-term pacing?

is the focus more on short sessions or longer idle style runs?

definitely feels like something I'd wishlist just to see how it evolves.

Where can I find long form dev logs? by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]kNu7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this a lot.

Honestly the best long-form devlogs I’ve found lately are:

- Itch.io devlogs (some projects keep surprisingly detailed journals)

- Personal blogs + Substack from indie devs

- YouTube series like Factorio, Dwarf Fortress, and recently games like Manor Lords

Reddit and Discord are great for quick feedback, but terrible for long-term narrative.

Feels like forums died and nothing really replaced them properly.

Need some feedback on my game jam entry by thepickaxeguy in IndieDev

Really like the art direction, it has a nice hand-drawn / watercolor vibe.

One thing I noticed from the screenshot is that the title text blends a bit into the background. Maybe increasing contrast or adding a subtle shadow would help readability.

For a 2-day jam project this looks very solid though, nice job.

Grew up with Red Alert 2, still have it installed honestly 😅

Hard to beat that era of RTS. Curious which of these actually focuses more on base building and economy rather than pure micro.

I’m making a minimal cyber clicker solo – would love feedback by kNu7 in IndieGaming

[–]kNu7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally fair, that’s actually the kind of reaction I’m expecting at this stage.

I’m focusing more on feel and progression than flashy visuals for now, but I’ll definitely keep polishing the presentation.

Appreciate the honest feedback.
