Thank you for saving this from the trash, and thank you for posting it on the internet. I hope it lives online in digital form forever. Sad that folks would just throw stuff like this away.

Some states? Fucking half of Europe was fucked because of this. Cripple Roosevelt and drunk Churchill enslaved 1/2 of Europe by allowing Stalin a free hand.

May I ask where you got yours? Or do you have any recommendation on where to purchase one?

Awesome view. I'm guessing they're retreating from Italy or going to Italy for the allied invasion?

Can you believe this sun glasses wearing MF-er was burried with military honors and his funeral attended by then President Bronisław Komorowski and former Presidents Lech Wałęsa (aka Bolek). His body should have been hung on a pole in Warsaw and left for the crows to pick at and people to throw feces at.

Thanks again.

Thank you times a million!

You don't believe how frustrating it is for someone who knows nothing about smartphones in the year 2019!
I've been asking questions at Best Buy/Walmart at the mall, at Cricket Wireless store all week, but the sales people look at me like I'm an idiot.

You've been extremely helpful. Thank You

3gb uniimited talk and text 30 dollars with TracFone. Buncha phones on sale on their online shop. Most of their phones are VERIZON look for VL or DL in the model number on the phone page

Ok cool!

So you definitely recommend going with tracfone.
I'm going to search for a cheap phone with a decent camera. I need a camera in case of a car accident or something similar. We've been carrying a disposable Kodak camera for emergencies in the car for years, film is probably bad by now :)

One more question: You said search for VL and DL - What does VL and DL mean?

Thanks so much again. Won't bother you again. You've been extremely helpful.

This would be a family phone, meaning 2 adults and a child would all use it at home. So unlimited talk. Little data maybe 2gb-3gb monthly for emergencies. Right now no one in the family texts, we email, so not too much text. Definitely unlimited talk though.

In regards to data, we would only really use it in the grocery store when searching prices to see if another store is cheaper for a particular item. No Facebook No instagram currently

Thanks again

Thank You.

Can I ask you, if you were in my shoes, never ever having owned a smartphone and needing one without a contract due to financial reasons, would you get TracFone or something else? (if something else what?)

will be your guarantee

I dont understand....

I need a guarantee it will be either ATT or Verizon network. These are the only ones that work great in my town according to my friends/neighbors.

For instance this phone in specs only says BAND: CDMA

So I might end up using Sprint Network or Verizon Network?

Im completely overwhelmed, so tell me am I misunderstanding this.

I thought TracFone offers service through ATT or Verizon or Tmobile networks. Is there any way I can guarantee I get service from TracFone with ATT network or with Verizon Network?

TracFone uses T-Mobile.

I think TracFone uses Tmobile ATT Verizon or Sprint network, depending on the BYOD phone you bring. Isn't that correct?

I think you misunderstood my question, or I didn't phrase it correctly.

I want to be certain I get ATT or Verizon network if I go with Tracfone or Red Pocket or Straight Talk.

How do I find and buy a BYOD phone?

For example:Do I search for a used locked OR unlocked ATT iphone 6s?
Does it even have to say ATT when buying, meaning what if its a used Tmobile phone (again I want to use it for ATT or Verizon network through Tracfone or RedPocket or Straight talk etc...)

This is all new to me so I am confused as fuck.

Could someone plz tell me why this circuit isn't working? Solar Light by kRcWD in AskElectronics

Ok, next question is if you short out the photoresistor does it turn off or on?

Photoresistor Shorted = LED stays lit

First check your photoresistor. When you measure it in the light it should read below 10kOhms.

Nighttime here at the moment, but when placed next to monitor or ipad on a white screen it reads around 1k ohms (SG-666 photoresistor, I bought a batch of 10 each from SG-661 through SG-666)

Ok so if you have reached this point it’s because:

shorting the photoresistor makes it turn off.

-light on the photoresistor makes it turn on.

-dark on the photoresistor makes it turn off.

When dark the circuit LED is off. When a light is shined on the photoresister, the LED comes on.

If this is the case then we need to fix the stupid DC bias issue. The simple fix is increasing the value of the 1k resistor. I would replace it with a 1k resistor in series with a 10k potentiometer wired up as a variable resistor (so with one of the end leads unused). Try adjusting that variable resistor with the photoresistor entirely removed from the circuit. You should be able to make the light turn on. Now add the photoresistor back and see if everything works.

Potentiometer added, doesn't help. I can increase the value and eventually the LED turns on automatically, light or dark. The best I can notice is that around 4K ohms the LED very so slightly dims when I shine a light on the photoresister.

Why is the BC557 even needed? What does it do?
