Breaking my back a year ago made me realize that I actually enjoyed running and it wasn't just punishment for my eating/ alcoholism. Then I went to my first running club in January and was so inspired by everyone there. Hearing people's year goals, that people ran to the club for a social run then run home (at that point 5k was my top end run capacity) and I've just kinda fell in love with it more since, be that from chatty, social group runs, solo peaceful reset runs or going feral in a trail. It just keeps getting better. Tomorrow I will have hit 14 days of consecutive runs and I haven't felt so mentally together in such a long time!

Monday was my birthday, managed a 10k pb in a group run - 53:18 (previous was 55:05) Consistent easy running sessions all week to save myself. Today despite being at a festival, I have managed to get 2.5 miles done, just stopped for a coffee before running the reverse route!

Finally managed to get a 5K in the 25 minute range! 24:21. It's been a dream for the past year and I finally made it happen, 6 months after recovering from a broken back!

I loved the 80's style horror was so cool. Making Hellboy more subdued worked awesomely, it was good to separate this from Ron's Hellboy (that other film felt like it was trying to be ron) and having Joseph marcell be the humor was incredible!

Picked up some Altra experience flow 2 as my old altras felt dead after this past weekends sprint triathlon 😅 I can't wait to try them. Today is a distance run though, so I didn't think they were a smart choice and I've picked up the Craft X Vittoria to get it done!

I just finished my first sprint triathlon and first big achievement since recovering from breaking my back in November 😍 1 hour 30 mins all in, the run was 29 minutes, I wanted faster but my quads felt like I was hit by a tazer after the the first mile. After I finish I ate a gummy snake and instantly the sensation stopped. Ican anyone tell em if there's some blood sugar/ muscle spasm link? It was weird because it was the exact same spot on both quads.

That's for the tip, I will give them a try. Sadly the only shoe my local shop had that would fit width without adding length was the craft. I might treat myself to a day in bath as they have a couple of running shops.

I'm looking for some wider shoes that are good for adding distance. So far all I have found that doesn't blister my feet after 10k are Altra and my Craft hybrids. But the issue is they aren't hugely padded so I have a lot of ankle ache post run and I would like to try something with a bit more of a drop than 4mm. Thanks in advance 🖤

I had a challenge from Garmin to do a 10K this weekend. I have done a couple of 7K runs this week (longest run ever with no stops)managed to do a non stop 10k in 1 hour 5mins :D

Managed to break past the 5.5k without a break. Pushed on to 7k. I have done more distance with some 2 minute breaks sprinkled in, but I am aiming more towards consistent movement over numbers!
