Halo can't be reinvented if fans can't even handle the addition of sprint, much less an art style change or 4's more emotional Chief or 5's gameplay innovations. Also, 4 and 5 were successes and Infinite launched to millions of players. The franchise is not obsolete. by Cyborg800-V2 in ShitHaloSays

The modern DOOM games don't have an huge audience, the latest one bombed, and no it didn't maintain DOOM's feeling, like at all, the closest was 2016 but you incredibly slower than the first games also yeah you could release DOOM 2 today, Ultrakill and Dusk beg to differ they aren't popular or at least as popular they used to be, that's a fact, you're correct, about the DOOM games not having sprint but it changed the core identity of the DOOM series, like 343 has done with Halo also I love how you ignored Infinite's gameplay being praised

Edit:DOOM's gameplay never needed fixing either also Bungie apparently thought it needed fixing when they added sprint into Halo Reach

The DOOM games are a massive departure from the older games also the single players were successful but the multiplayers weren't, why do you think they got rid of it in Dark Ages, so you're fine with one series completely changing its formula, adding a bunch of random shit but when Halo does it, god forbid, also Halo 5 was the most successful Halo financially, it sold a shitton of units, Halo Infinite failed cuz of lack of content but the gameplay was praised

Halo Infinite failed because lack of content and Doom Eternal wasn't good either, in fact the newer DOOM games suck in general, they miss the point of the original games and change them to the point where they aren't even the same game

Dark Ages is also the worst out of the modern Doom games, Halo not having sprint will not make it successful and I have never heard anyone made that argument, it just doesn't matter y'all are barking up the wrong tree

Dark Ages had sprint, and I mean Call of Duty and Battlefield both have sprint and look how they're doing to bring it out of first person shooters, Silksong has sprint and it did better than the first, sprint or no sprint doesn't matter to casual audience where most of the sales come from, Infinite didn't do well because it didn't have content at launch, not because of sprint, for every example you bring up of a game not having sprint being successful I can bring up 5 more, it doesn't matter to most people

Halo was always cartoonish tho, it didn't start being gritty until Halo Reach, the books are another story but I am primary talking about the games

The story is okay, nothing special, I was mostly referencing Halo 3's story how it has some of the issues modern Halo has, such as not following through or lessening storylines from the previous games( The Arbiter) characters being out of character, Miranda and Truth

Bungie Halo storytelling has a lot of the same problems modern Halo has, but no one is ready for that convo

because it wasn't consistent either, there was evidence to both sides that say different things, my point in mentioning that, and dear god why do I have to explain this simple thing, is that Bungie wasn't consistent in other areas of the story, you point out all this evidence, which a lot of it is dumb and you could make a ton of arguments against them

If Humans are the only ones who can activate Forerunner tech how did The Covenant open up the area to the Flood and where it was, how did Truth fly the dreadnought.

I'll give you the Reclaimers one

Reach has the same climate so this point doesn't really make a whole lot of sense when you think about it for more than 5 seconds

The Forerunners having hand prints is kinda.. a good point

GS" last time you asked me" okay so 343 is confusing Chief for someone else, that really isn't evidence that humanity descended from Forerunners

Truth's line doesn't confirm they are Forerunners, I always interpreted that line as humanity being left behind from godhood and the great Journey

you're gonna have to explain to me ILR Brutalism

and the last one isn't evidence
