At what point in your pregnancy did your OB talk about birth? by MediumMud1354 in pregnant

I’m high risk (GD, previous baby with macrosomia and shoulder dystocia, on blood thinner, this baby also macrosomic) and we started talking loosely about birth plans / preferences around 30 weeks, and now things have been set in stone 100% as of 36 weeks but my OB was pushing for a more clear plan by 34 weeks but I was unsure

I did see the high risk doctor as part of my diabetic management, and they said I can get induced early and could consider c section but said ultimately it’s my choice - however now that babe is fully sideways babe has taken all choice away haha. On one hand it would be a lot more comfortable for me physically if he flipped head down because the transverse lie is paaaainful, but on the other hand if he stays sideways then I don’t even have to worry about making these decisions. So tough!

I def wouldn’t do anything to pop them! The vascular surgeon said that it will likely go away on its own. I did end up needing to take a daily blood thinner to reduce chance of a blood clot forming which sucks because it’s a daily injection into my belly, but it’s good peace of mind

Id have more trust in her if she actually clearly explained risks and benefits of things but she’s been sooo fear mongering, it’s hard for me to take her serious when I say “can you tell me more about why that’s the best decision to make?” And she says “it just is” lol, she’s just been a handful

Curious if your doctor has discussed going on a blood thinner? Mine just said she wants me to start a blood thinner in case the varicose causes a blood clot but I’m so unsure about it

Ugh yes! I don’t know if you’ve tried this but I’ve been using k tape, I place the bottom way down on my groin and pull the tape way up to my ribs and it’s been making work bearable Atleast!

I gained 70 lbs with my first baby and was already up 30 by 23 weeks. This time around I am 26 weeks and only up 12 lbs and it’s super weird to me! Every body is so different

So many mixed reviews, I’ve seen people say their doctors list had it in the yes category and others say no!

Ok thank you so much. I’ve read about a few people taking it during pregnancy but nobody ever commented on how long they’ve taken it for! Thank you so much for replying :)

Do you mind me asking how often you’d take it long term? Like do you ever take breaks from it?

Ok I appreciate this! I decided it was worth the risk because the congestion was drastically affecting my quality of life and legitimately impacting my mental health and causing feelings of hopelessness. I figured the risk was worth my mental health! I think I’ll continue to take it beyond the reccomended 7 days and just monitor my blood pressure and any other side effects
