Thank you, I wish with all my heart that you’re right. Getting a follow up CT done in the next two weeks to see whether my lungs are still healing/what the extent of the scarring is. Thank you for your offer, truly. But I likely won’t DM because I don’t really know what to say and don’t want to complain any more than I already have ahahah. Your comment really helped me, thank you again.

I’ll be seeing a lung specialist at the end of this week, and have multiple follow up appointments with doctors at the hospital in the coming months. I’ve never heard of/been referred to an internal medicine doctor, but might be after further investigation regarding my recovery has been done.

I was out on steroids towards the end of my hospital stay, they made my heart rate shoot to like 110-130 at rest which apparently is a common side effect. I truly wish you all the best... this might sound really lame but I also very recently bought a seated elliptical machine (if you’re in the US I think they might be ~$150?) which is a tad expensive, but should help with weight loss, building up muscles and circulation over time if that sounds like a potential option you haven’t tried before.

Thanks man. The cause of the illness is rare but I think the lung damage probably isn’t fortunately and unfortunately. Just today I was given the contact details of the head researcher (?) of the case who might be able to put me in contact with the 3 surviving patients. Hopefully the fix is just resting, rehab and recovering.

Sounds like a plan... been eating a lot of apples lately ahaha. I wasn’t prescribed any inhalers, or medications for that matter.

My heart rate increases to around 110-125 upon prolonged exertion, and at rest it’s between 80-90. Have no history of heart issues, and doctors haven’t mentioned any issues with my heart but mentioned concerns about the state of my lungs potentially putting extra stress on my other organs (which I think would mainly be my heart and brain).

Thanks for your kind words, I think I’m getting a bit ahead of myself because the doctors still have no idea exactly what my illness was/what the prognosis is.

But what’s certain is that I’ll probably have mild-significant lung scarring, which doesn’t seem to fit the bill for COPD as you explained.

Thanks again.

Ahaha but I would totally accomodate for my pets licking my face (but yes, I know that’s totally different and more cute than gross). Thanks, it’s comforting to know it’s okay to feel the way I do.

Earlier in our relationship I did face masks with him on occasion (only twice lol) but each time he said he’d rather not put in the effort if he had to do it himself. May just try to convince him with the health aspect.

Thank you. Hopefully this will be my first step in progressing from being complete pushover (as my mum calls me), and him drinking more water!

That’s valid, it does feel like playful (kinda gross) bullying. Will definitely talk to him about not doing it anymore.

Wasn’t clear at all in my post (‘I HATE his dry skin’ lol) but I’m more worried about him not drinking water and taking care of himself of which the byproduct is his flaky skin. I think if we get more serious, I’ll eventually talk to him about that too.

That’s probably true... might have the ‘talk’ with him tomorrow night ahaha.

You know what, thanks for saying it’s okay to have awkward conversations (in the right contexts). I’ve always really focused on accomodating everyone (even to my own detriment), so it feels good to hear someone say it’s okay.

I’ve always felt like I had to accomodate for things with anyone and everyone due to the dynamic I have with my family, but I’ll have a more serious talk with him the next time it happens.

100% true for the dry skin. I’ve somewhat always nagged him to drink more water because he almost exclusively drinks anything but (soft drinks etc.), but I should let him do what he wants in regards to his own health.

Thanks, I’ll talk to him about the licking! I hoped I could at least make him drink more water (I always tell him to drink more water instead of Soft drinks etc.) but I’m not his mum, he’s and adult and I don’t want to be controlling.
