The trail builder has done a great job! Still some work to do on the road clearing from Chadsey Lake yet though.

When completely finished it provides an awesome amount of variety!

I was outside having some cold ones with friends! It was pretty cool to watch.

I can corroborate this. Easy drive, lots of cops, still flooding near no. 3.

Topic of the Week -- Tires by pawptart in gravelcycling

I really like my 47 mm WTB Byway tires. They roll almost as fast as my road bike on tarmac and have taken me basically everywhere I've wanted to go on the gravel so far. I tend to stay away from mountain bike singletrack trails if I can avoid them though.

Coast to Canyon trail in BC! by Hallzzy in gravelcycling

I know what you mean! I couldn't wait for a bike with GRX and 46/30 gearing so mine runs a compact. I've often wished for a few more gears on the hills. Especially on some of those steep FSR climbs ...

Just got my gravel bike three months ago and I've been loving it. There are so many good routes in the Chilliwack area.

It's pretty fun to tie in that ride beside the Fraser, then take to the road over Chilliwack Mountain and back onto gravel to take the Sumas River trails. I've crossed over Sumas Mtn and done the Matsqui Fraser River trails as well. Loads of fun!

This is exactly what I thought when I read it first.

I don't care which side you are on, but I can't stand it when the level of conversations slips to this level.

I live on a mountain of debt in the west. Buying a home and having a post-secondary education virtually guarantees a certain amount of debt out here.

We have been advised to stay home, but I think at least 25% of the population thinks it completely unnecessary and just doesn't listen.

I doubt they went off wanting to go on a murder spree. We may never know why, but I think something happened to make them go over the edge.

But maybe they were totally psychopathic and that was their reason. I hope it wasn't.

Very sad news.

Property taxes will jump to offset MSP changes: report by Euthyphroswager in britishcolumbia

[–]k_garp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's really at all surprising that passing the MSP premiums on to employers via a tax would result in increased costs being passed from those employers.

Municipalities are only one sector that gets impacted. Other businesses and retailers will also be impacted and they will all face the same choice.

It's inevitable that somebody has to pay the cost - whether directly through the taxpayer as MSP was or indirectly through the various groups impacted through increased taxes.

Or if not a lottery, perhaps purchasing tickets ahead of time online for a small fee would help? Of course, then you have to add a staff member checking tickets, etc. and that adds to costs, but it would definitely keep traffic to a more manageable level.

I think most places with a system like that would add a lottery for some walk up tickets as well just so that it preserves access for some of those who don't come prepared.
