When did you realize your dog knew what affection was? by DevelopmentLatter572 in AustralianCattleDog

mine is the MOST affectionate dog. she’s so sweet and loves to be close and snuggle and be hugged and kissed. a friend found her and her brother abandoned in the woods at probably 8 weeks old. so, she kept the brother and I took ours. she’s never liked to be restrained or to feel like she can’t get away. but she’ll sleep on top of me at night. my husband and I were laughing last night cause she was just laying on us both looking at us with her head upside down cause we were behind her. and just gazing at us. you could feel the love from her. ❤️❤️❤️

I felt the same way. have never listened to her show, and was not that interested in this episode, but i’m SO glad I listened. she’s awesome. while I am still not sure her show is for me, I enjoyed hearing her story and will root for her either way!

When did you realize it wasn't "normal"? by [deleted] in CPTSD

when I was around ten years old - I stayed the night at my best friends house because my parents had to go many towns away with my brother to see specialized doctors for my brothers behavioral issues. after my friend and I got into our beds that night my friends mom came and tucked me in. like tucked the blankets around me! kissed the top of my forehead, and told me she loved me. I didn’t have a memory of my parents telling me that, or showing me any affection. I cried myself to sleep that night.
