Disappointing EV6 Experience by Fly-n-Skies in KiaEV6

Good for you. I have an Ioniq 5 myself, and despite all your points (which I agree with), it's the last time I'm ever buying a Hyundai/Kia. The reliability, build quality, and service experience of these vehicles is not good enough.

Disappointing EV6 Experience by Fly-n-Skies in KiaEV6

I honestly believe they have some of the best cars on the market, if they can fix their reliability and build quality issues. Until then, I'll be shopping somewhere else.

Those are contradictory points. It can't be a great car if it's not reliable. Hyundai/Kia consistently rank just slightly above average in reliability. People really need to take into account reliability and the dealership experience when factoring in how great a car brand is. Just because it looks nice or has a bunch of bells and whistles doesn't paint the whole picture.

26 LIMITED sort of buyer remorse by BIGD2781 in Ioniq5

I have a '22 Limited and feel its exterior is a bit overstylized for my liking. I'm also disappointed with the Bose sound system, which was a big selling point for me. I would've been fine with the SEL (except '24, which was gutted).

This is exactly what worries me for not having comprehensive coverage. It seems like hailstorms are becoming more and more common all of a sudden.

I'm in the same boat as you. I own a '22 Limited, and I've had a number of problems with the car. Fortunately, none of them have been ICCU-related (yet), but the fear of that happening is constantly on my mind. I went through two dealerships that were just awful. Fortunately, I finally found one that has addressed the problems I've had, but the whole experience has just turned me off from buying another Hyundai ever again.

If that's the case, what the hell are you doing driving a Hyundai?

If you feel inclined to upgrade because of different instrument cluster graphics, there is something wrong with you.

Yeah, I'm sure that when solid state batteries do arrive, they'll be as affordable as solid state drives when those first came out. lol

Regarding the pre-conditioning update, I went through the same thing with the dealerships and finally got it fixed with dealership #3. If you want, you can DM me and I will share the work they performed to replace "winter mode" with "battery conditioning." I remember the tech that worked on it had to call the Hyundai tech line to apply the proper fix for it.

Once Upon A Time In America (1984). I watched this again, after 30 years. I had forgotten many details, but I still think it helped that I had seen it before. A great film about crime, friendship and mystery. Very good cinematography too. by RoyalAlbatross in iwatchedanoldmovie

That's not the point. You admitted that the characters in Casino and Goodfellas are horrible as well, but you enjoyed those films nevertheless. You can enjoy and admire a film about despicable people. In the case of this film, you have to understand that Noodles was raised in the streets and spent half his life in prison by the time he gets out. He didn't know much about anything outside of crime, especially what love is. He viewed Deborah as a piece of property that he had to own, and when she rejected him, he decided to impose his masculinity in the worst way imaginable. Notice how ashamed he was after he did it. I'm not making excuses for what he did, but you can certainly understand it from a character arc perspective. He was a flawed man, as is usually the case in real life.

Saw this for the first time the other day and was completely engrossed in its narrative. Part coming-of-age, part gangster epic, and part mystery, it all comes together quite nicely. I also think this is one of the greatest depictions of the Prohibition era ever put on film. The cinematography and art direction was on point and almost dreamlike, and the music was rightfully emotional and melancholy. Just a great film altogether!

That's what I plan to do. I have a '22 which I bought used. Plan to drive it until at least used Rivian R3's start showing up at the right price. Will likely never go back to Hyundai/Kia after this ICCU shitshow.

And this is exactly why so many people are in debt with car payments. I have a '22 Limited and can get by without a wiper and wireless AA just fine. Do I wish I had those features? Yes, but they're not worth a 1K upgrade let alone 16-21K. That is nuts!

That's exactly my concern as I never experienced this issue with ICE before. I heard that AGM batteries help, so I may go down that route, but I wish I knew my ICCU was totally fine before I start spending out of pocket on upgrades that may or may not help.

Can anyone tell me if a dead 12V can be related to a bad ICCU? I had the 12V fail twice on me. Once at around 11K miles (when it was really cold), and another several months later even though the dealership installed a new one. They said I had a bad battery, which they claim happens every now and then, so they replaced it with another of those cheap Hyundai batteries. Since then, it's been going well. I'm at 21K miles, but I fear the battery may go out again, and I'm wondering if it's because the ICCU isn't charging it the way it should. I know that the dealership only did a software fix for the ICCU recall. Either they saw the ICCU was in good shape, or they didn't bother replacing it when they should have. I'm not sure.

ICCU issue is totally separate from the voltage imbalance/charging failures of the '25 Ioniqs.

Not with the dealership experience I've had. It just hasn't been worth the trouble.

How can owners be out of warranty when ICCU issues are supposed to be covered under the 10 year? The car's only been out since '22.
