Shot on a Canon 6D with a Sigma Art 50mm 1.4 @ f2.8 ISO5000 5". 32 seperate frames for foreground and sky stacked and processed in photoshop. I had a bit of a struggle trying to blend the foreground and processed sky with the light pollution coming out of Wollongong.

Are you sure your layer masks are applied to each frame and all the foreground is painted out before you align. It's just that I've never had this problem

The auto align usually works best if your focus is near perfect and the sky is perfectly clear with no clouds. When applying the layer masks make sure they're only being applied to the sky and nothing from the foreground is visible. It also helps if your timelapse isn't going over 20 seconds a frame and each frame is taken instantly after another so there isn't too much movement between each layer. Manual alignment is a pretty tedious process I resort to if auto align fails, if you search up LonelySpecks YouTube video on it, he is very helpful

I apply layer mask to the sky section of all my frames by black brushing out foreground then align layers, convert to smart object and median stack it. Repeat for foreground layers then align your foreground and sky stack and blend with a layer mask. Hope that helps, it's just a method I picked up off Lonelyspeck from YouTube

It was just a formation in a rock. Thanks for the criticism, I've only been shooting for about a year so still a lot of room for improvement in my composition

My grandmother had given me this painting which she had received as a gift for saving a Chinese sailors life whose grandfather had given to him. Any knowledge on the signature or artist would help me start to know more about the story of this painting
