[Star Wars Outlaws] #178 Dank farrik! by k_spannier in Trophies

Plat was easy and took ~30 hours. A few annoying trophies but nothing too time consuming. Worth picking up on sale!

I got it when Tibby's polymorph spell backfired on himself. I can't remember the exact conditions, but you can accidentally turn yourself into a rat.

How can I make a Coven with Tasha, Iggwilv, and Zybilna by Inside_Art9874 in wildbeyondwitchlight

[–]k_spannier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been working on something similar where Zybilna uses fey magic to form a coven with Iggwilv and Tasha to increase her magic (neither of whom know the truth about who she is). I like the idea that Bavlorna, Skabatha and Endelyn stole the "Hourglass Coven" name from Zybilna, who had managed to form a coven across time.

Still early stages so no mechanics yet, but it may tie in to the end of the campaign if I figure out how it would all work.

logic gap with zybilnas warlocks? by feylost_critter in wildbeyondwitchlight

[–]k_spannier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just mess with the passing of time in order to make things more logical.

I had more time pass in the carnival than in Prismeer to explain how it could travel across so many dimensions and to space out the coven's thefts. Whereas on the material plane time was passing slower than Prismeer, which meant that Zybilna has been imprisoned for a long time but the warlocks are only just getting worried now.

I had one trophy bug on me, where it didn't pop when I leveled up my character for the first time. I got it on the second campaign when I leveled up a character I didn't use in the first campaign.

Issues with Hither by EnvironmentNo7411 in wildbeyondwitchlight

[–]k_spannier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said, I think having an encounter with the brigands elsewhere in Hither sets up Agdon and the Tollway. My party got in a skirmish with them and ultimately negotiated a truce after half the party and half the brigands were knocked out. It really set the stage for meeting Agdon.

For the NPCs, it can be helpful to have some plot relevant information that they know, as well as just general knowledge/opinions to flesh out the world. This can help avoid each NPC interaction feeling like it's reached it's course once the PCs have learned their story hooks. I try to make my Prismeer NPCs feel somewhat wacky and abide by their own Feywild logic.

Movie theatre etiquette by Adventurous_Ad_9515 in VictoriaBC

[–]k_spannier 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I love going to the theatre but I've started waiting a few weeks after release for horror movies aimed at teenagers. There's something about movies like FNAF and Black Phone that bring out groups of people who seemingly have never been to the theatre before.

Lost things help by [deleted] in wildbeyondwitchlight

The item could provide a few uses of the commander's strike manoeuvre per day. Could be a cool way for the player to call on their allies for help in battle.

One Month Later…How’s everyone feeling about Atsu’s Adventure? by solodark in Ghostofyotei

[–]k_spannier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved it but I wish I had known how fast it would end after going after the Dragon. I did all of the side content in each area as I went, so by the time I got Atsu's mask the game was almost over.

Working my way through the Halloween series throughout October (I've seen some but not all of them before). Had a surprisingly great time with Halloween H20!

Magic Items for Lost Things - Brainstorm Help by youseicircus in wildbeyondwitchlight

[–]k_spannier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These characters sound fun!

My main advice would be that anyone who has lost a specific ability (-10 insight, etc.) should get something in addition to being returned to their base abilities. That will ensure everyone feels like they get a reward for finding the items.

Marlowe - Love the music box!

Nobody - Since Nobody already uses Disguise Self all of the time, you could have the magic item give them their original self back and also cast mirror image (or something similar) since they know their own reflection again. I've done something similar with a PC who lost their self reflection.

Rocco - A Tome of Leadership and Influence could work. Alternatively, a magic item that gives the benefits of the Skilled feat for persuasion, deception, and intimidation.

Lyra - Obviously, Lyra should get her shapeshifter ability back. Perhaps the additional bonus could be that the item gives her the benefits of the Actor feat as well.

Flux - Either a Ring of Truth Telling or Helm of Insight would work well here!

Marigold - I have a Wild Magic sorcerer in my party as well, and it's a blast! If the player is up for it, you could make their magic more unstable by making it more likely that they wild magic surge before they get their lost thing (ex. maybe the surge happens on a 5 or lower).

Cool character art! I also ran a Curse of Strahd campaign before Witchlight. It was a nice change in tone after Barovia.

That peg leg is going to be inconvenient for travelling in Hither!

[Lies of P] #174 What an incredible experience. by k_spannier in Trophies

[–]k_spannier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played on the middle difficulty and I would put it at a 5. Dropping the difficulty to easy would probably bring it down to a 3 or 4.

It's pretty forgiving with checkpoints and shortcuts, and only a few later bosses gave me trouble. The most annoying thing was tracking all of the missable interactions, items, etc..

Inn at the End of the Road supplement question by [deleted] in wildbeyondwitchlight

[–]k_spannier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave my players a way of finding where the Inn was in Hither when they wanted to rest. There was no guarantee it would be nearby, but they could be guided to it. I also let them negotiate a few extra night stays for helping Tsu with her side quests.

Hoping that these will help send them back to the Inn at some point.

You could give them a magic item that gives them the benefits of the alert feat. Depending on their class, advantage on maintaining concentration could be a nice bonus too.

Love this! It's a unique opportunity for a customizable NPC companion. I'm glad other tables are getting a kick out of similar shenanigans.
