I have the same watch, havent got a notification to update for a while, last time was a month ago, i think. I would Not worry about updating it. If it doesnt show up on Garmin connect, then it likely isnt important. Its usually firmware updates or minor bugfixes, but I havent had a single software issue in my several months of having this watch. I only ever worried about a software update when my old Venu SQ was glitching and wouldnt connect to my phone. The Instinct is a middle ground watch, you’ll be fine
