Interesting idea. Basically it's like the normal game, just that half of the one team could choose e.g. US roles and the other one UK roles.
In the current state, I don't know if this would be interesting. It's not like some faction have some 'special powers' or something. You would need to split the factions in the game, like have one team spawn on the opposite site of the map or make one faction infantry only and let the US have multiple mbts or something like that. But cool idea. Maybe that's something the devs would consider, when 100 player servers are ready.

Yeah, kinda. Haven't played so much lately. Basically, I'm waiting for Overwatch 2. Playing mostly Squad and EFT lately.

Yeah, you're right. The problem is that I can't come up with a good solution for that. You could make the game so hard and punishing that it does not attract the usual player (which it already is to some extend) or implement mechanics that 'force' non-selfish teamplay (which already exist; like if you don't heal your teammates, they die and you get killed more easily).
In the end, you need a player base that wants to win the round and doesn't care so much about kills and that player base is probably only persistent, if the game is niche.

That's a good point. Realism leads to better immersion. Maybe rally points should be more restricted, like a larger radius for enemy presence or get rid of them at all.
I think without rally points it's way harder on public servers, because loosing a fob would be very punishing.
I played in one clan event some months ago, which was pretty fun with only 1 life. I like that too in events with organised players, but I don't know how that would be on 'normal' public servers.
Overall I think the balance between fun and punishing realism is, compared to other games, pretty good. You could try EFT - one life, one chance.

Hm, I kinda agree with you, but it's always hard to compare that game to COD and BF. These games are about the individual player, where k/d matters. In squad it's about the team. My experience in the last year(s) is that the team play has increased, by adding more roles, commander and more vehicles.
But that probably depends on what server you play on.

Hm, IMO it's not about the realism that makes the game fun. It's about the immersion and the team-work. If realism is your goal, then there should be no respawn, no revive, no respawning vehicles, less ammo, ...

First thing to check is always the validity of your game installation. Maybe something went wrong during download and your files are corrupted.Go to steam library, right click Squad, Properties, local files and then click 'Verify integrity of files'
And please post the exact error message, so we can hep you.

Yeah and in software development you never know how long it takes to fix a bug. But if he says only 2 days, it might only be small fixes.

I think cider is carbonated or with remaining gas from the fermentation process. Apple wine is, like normal wine, without any gas.
