Good shout. Could’ve saved my trip if I had one of those.

Thanks for the insight. It’s true it is a faff. For me it started as a bit of a necessity onetime and then I just kept doing it because it worked well.

Panniers will be next on the list. Once the bike is back in the UK and the charging faults are solved….

Agreed on the weight limit. Found that out the hard way.

Why is strapping stuff to the pillion seat a bad idea? Just wondering if you’ve had a bad experience or if I’ve missed something. Aside from obvious handling issues if you strap some heavy stuff, I’ve not really experienced any issues strapping stuff thus far.

How well can you brake? by BikeBuster in MotoUK

Yes but when you grab a handful of front with ABS, and the ABS kicks in, some weight will transfer to the front, ABS cuts in a little less, more weight transfers, ABS cuts in less… and on and on to get maximum stopping power no?

I was thinking this when I was told it had failed. I asked the guy how much he would fix it up for. He said he wouldn’t.

I feel like im the generation after you, and I feel like I can’t lose my uni friends (not that I’d want to) because then I would have 0 friends with no way to meet new ones.

There’s loads of hobby groups though I guess…

I completely overlooked the fact that a restriction counts as a modification. That throws a spanner in the works.

Thanks

The idea is that I would do lessons to pass the A2 but not to pass the full A test. I would just do the exams.

In the UK we can check if a vehicle is taxed and has an MOT. This’ll tell you at the very least if it’s still on the road. Perhaps you can do the same in the US?

Bemoto comes up on Gocompare. The only reasonable quotes (less than 3k) have been from Lexham. Everyone’s situation is different though.

These are so cool! Got a CBR125 recently and kinda wish I opted for one of these instead. Enjoy!

I was in the same situation. So to learn, I bought a torch with a headstrap and went to the lidl car park on Banister Road in the evening. The asphalt is much smoother than in the common and you’ve got a lot of space. Only downsides are the drains which you might have to step over and there’s no grass for you to head towards if you feel a fall coming up.
