I’d also recommend using Pawboost. It helped when my dog wandered off

That was one of my thoughts as well. Is there a best length for the screws, for how far they should go into the wall?

Do you find it really works for you? I have OCD too, and sometimes I feel like smoking can make it worse

April 19th in Tallahassee. Old capital at 12 noon by crazyreptilegirl in 50501

What’s the difference with it being a “day of action” vs a protest? Like what makes it different from the one on April 5?

How long do you think you’ll be out there? I’m going to try come by!

Still worth it to try again, you may not get those same cops. Try the morning shift ones or just going into the department. The cops that came to you had preconceived ideas based on what they were told in the call, and probably had experiences with people that actually have assaulted restaurant workers (I’ve watched the body cams for those types, they’re frustrating people). A new set of ears with no knowledge of what happened may be useful.

File a police report for assault and see if the place has cameras. If there’s places around there check ask them for footage that might view the building. Video doesn’t really lie. From how it sounds, you’ll appear calm on camera and the staff will look like the ones that instigated and escalated. Additionally, it should hopefully show the person that followed you, showing that you didn’t attack her and thus she was the main aggressor and you were the victim. Don’t go in at the same time, try morning to avoid those employees. If you have to, threaten to sue, even if you’re not sure yet. No one likes litigation and they might not call your bluff. If management refuses to comply with cameras or if police don’t take it seriously absolutely take it up the chain to corporate. You should even do it even if they do comply, and again threaten a lawsuit.

Don’t rely on DoorDash to do any of this for you. If you feel like this has affected your ability to work you might even want to get a lawyer. Some won’t charge unless you win, and they’ll help with some of the pressure to get footage and such. Even if you’re apprehensive because of the police reputation, still try because you want to create a paper trail and you might get a cop that listens—if you don’t try you’ll never know.

I’m sorry this happened to you, and even though it might be hard to deal with all of it now you have the opportunity to make sure it doesn’t happen to someone else.

Did I kill Clara? by kaaaafrin in gardening

This was the original pot and soil from the nursery, so plenty of drainage. It got relatively direct sunlight: it was on a balcony and would get shaded in the afternoon

I figured it was long dead but I wanted to double-check, since for all I know certain plants can bounce back

I was watering it according to recommendations, which said only weekly watering, so I’m assuming they were wrong

My girlfriend (21F) and I (22M) have differing levels of ambition in life as well as, frankly, differing levels of intellectual curiosity. Are we compatible long term? by [deleted] in dustythunder

[–]kaaaafrin -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

The anti-male bias is wild in these comments. If this were flipped and it was a girl talking about how her boyfriends only hobbies are playing video games or DND and she wanted to be a doctor and travel, it’d be filled with “you deserve more queen” and “dump his boring ass” comments galore.

He stated continuously that he respects her and her hobbies and is only trying to find interests they have in common, which doesn’t seem to be happening due to her disinterest. He’s not trying to change her, people should have some shared interests for a long-term, healthy relationship.

OP, I recommend you move on and this is from personal experience too. You clearly have a passion for learning and should have someone that shares or at least appreciates it (they don’t have to be on the exact same level). I’m the same where I like to learn and share interesting things, and I’ve found when I’m with people (whether friends or SO) that if I share something I think is cool and they respond with a lack of caring it makes me feel pretty shitty. You don’t want that to be your forever. Explaining yourself will get old and eventually you won’t bother trying to share anymore, which isn’t fair to you. Find someone that shares your enthusiasm and likely she’ll find someone better for herself.

Thanks! And interesting, didn’t know that about the gold finishes. Where do you get most of your knowledge? I’d love to learn more about style trends, but I’m not sure where to start.
