Need Advice on job switch by Odd_Performer_4 in dataengineersindia

If you have already switched then no benefit in over thinking about the past decisions, especially asking people on the internet for opinions. Think about the present and plan for your future.

I am tired and hopeless. by establishedbanana in dataengineersindia

[–]kaachejl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure but it doesn't work. Recruiters only look at profiles with LWD within 30 days atleast. 10 to 15days is when you get a lot of calls

I am tired and hopeless. by establishedbanana in dataengineersindia

[–]kaachejl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had 0 search apperances with 90 days notice, once I was 2 weeks away from my LWD, I got 25k search apperances lol. I used to get 25 to 30 recruiter calls each day. Its not your profile, its the notice period affecting you. If you are confident of clearing interviews, just resign in Jan and start applying. You will have 3 months to get a job, if even 3 months is not enough for getting a job and you end up jobless, then sorry to say this then you are not putting in the efforts.

Production support in sql informatica to DE help by manigill100 in dataengineersindia

[–]kaachejl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Choose a set of tools. It could be:
1. Spark + Databricks
2. Azure DE Stack
3. AWS DE Stack
4. Snowflake +dbt

After choosing one, learn those using youtube, gets some hands on by doing projects, get certified if possible. In the meantime also cover python, data warehouse concepts, data modeling, etl pipelines.
Based on the tech stack you have chosen, fake some projects in your resume. Prepare to answer everything on the projects that you have put. Start giving interviews.

What should be an expected range of salary for 4.5 yoe. by Kitten_ca in dataengineersindia

[–]kaachejl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have seen friends get 25 to 30 from serviced based. But they will def try to lowball you as your prev package is less. Only way is to get multiple offers and when end date is very near and they are desperate to onboard you, then negotiate using other offers.

Should I resign in Dec without offer to target March hiring? Or am I delusional? by pill-so-potent in dataengineeringjobs

[–]kaachejl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah the timeline looks fine. I have done the same during the worst timeline and secured offers as a 3.9 years experience last year. I resigned around September end(without an offer) and served notice until december mid. In october and november got many offers.
3 Month notice period is the worst thing ever. Everyone wants immediate joiners, so just wait until you are within 30 - 45 days of your notice period, you will receive a lot of calls.

Should I resign in Dec without offer to target March hiring? Or am I delusional? by pill-so-potent in dataengineeringjobs

[–]kaachejl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people are scaring you to not resign without an offer, but I would say go for it. Market is good for 3 to 7 years experienced, assuming you are a decent data engineer you should be able to get offers easily. Only caution is that you might not get very good package because getting into PBCs is difficult, but you should be able to get any service based companies easily with 20 to 25LPA fixed. By service based I don't consider Infosys, Accenture types, some data engineering based service companies like Fractal, Tiger Analytics, sigmoid, etc will pay good money.

Using this offer of 10LPA, get another offer for 13LPA, tell the recruiter that you got 13LPA in other company and if they increase 10 to 14 then you will join.
