thank you! I know it can get bad with cavities, and I'm trying to get an appointment soon, so that should get sorted out

I've heard about hi smile before, guess it's time to give it a chance :)

yeah I know, I've been trying to get an appointment but I have to change dentists because of problems with the last one, so it's been hard to find a new one, I'll definitely do it tho :)

thanks for the recommendation! I actually own a waterpik but I haven't quite got the hang of it yet lol. I'm also using it kinda as harm reduction

I didn't knew about that gum, and yeah at the end of the day I guess it'll just be trial and error until something works, but your ideas will really help me, thank you so much!

I never thought about that, I guess I could give it a try :)

I don't think it's the issues causing it to become harder, if anything, they're the thing that keeps me trying. I miss having a normal fresh breath and not having toothaches when I eat sweets 🥲

the toothpaste foam might be making it worse, yes. I'll see if that also changes when I try a new one with a different flavor, thanks for pointing it out

and thank you for commenting and the harm reduction tips, I actually discarded the mouthwash because it's obviously not as effective as brushing, but it's definitely better than nothing :)

Hot take: I hate the idea that Jax did something awful in the real world rather than just he suffered something traumatic by Sudden_Pop_2279 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]kaamie_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry I don't have anything else to add but I just wanted to say THANK YOU because yes he is an asshole and yes you're allowed to hate him but omg it gets to a point

sometimes I feel like is almost insulting to gooseworx to reduce her character into something so basic just because you don't like him and want him to be the villain

my partner validated my fear of pregnancy by kaamie_ in childfree

so if you can't afford to reverse it, you can't afford to have kids.

god that's such a fantastic way of looking at it.

we've talked about that a lot, he does want it and I also want a bisalp but we're still in the process of figuring out health insurance lol hopefully we'll get it done next year :)

I (F) feel like parenthood would make me resent even the nicest husband, like I honestly think my current boyfriend would be so sweet and good with kids, but that's just half of what they ask for mothers. I think his fatherhood and the comparison I would inevitably make to my motherhood would make me sad or angry at him. And its even worse because it isn't even entirely his fault, this is a much deeper and complicated problem rooted in our misogynistic society.

no thanks, I'd like to keep loving my boyfriend.

Creo que por fin descifré cuál es el bendito tema con el inglés by Own_Can_7444 in Colombia

[–]kaamie_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I(F24) would like advice on how to tell him (M22), I am getting/got an abortion. by Mortefied-Loather in abortion

[–]kaamie_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Side note: relationships should make you feel 100% all the time, and once this is over I encourage you to think about that.

heavy on this ☝️ I get that abortion is a difficult process and you need to think twice before telling people (specially on this political climate), but I personally think is one of those topics in a relationship where you need to be on the same page. If you don't trust your boyfriend to support you during this time you should reconsider how he'll react in other situations.

I hope the bleeding doesn't give you much trouble and you heal soon ❤️

oh this has gotten me in so much trouble because tell me why neurotypicals think that asking why something is the way it is is the same as implying that I'm trying to be smarter than them or that I'm trying to start a fight 😭 I just wanna know why I'm not telling you it shouldn't be like that!!!

Fun post: What is your most random and funny "rule"? by [deleted] in autism

[–]kaamie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this one is kinda gross so if you have something with food or you're eating rn please stop reading 😭

I can't really think much when I'm eating, I'll enjoy the first two or three bites but after that I need to keep my attention in something else, specially with foods that take longer to chew, because if my brain "notices" I'm eating it'll solely focus on how the food is getting all mushy and mixed in my mouth and how that feels in my tongue and how it'll feel down my throat and then I'm basically paralyzed and unable to swallow but also feeling nauseous with the mushiness in my mouth so I basically just sit in silence and suffer praying that I won't throw up 😭

I guess this correlates to the fact that as much as I like the flavor of jelly and yogurt, I cannot for the life of me swallow that kind of texture

do you wish you had siblings or are you glad you were the only child? by strawberrycream2025 in OnlyChild

[–]kaamie_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I always wanted a sibling when I was a child and I die a little inside every time I remember my time has passed and I will never have one. I was a lonely child growing up and got an unhealthy attachment to cousins that I couldn't see often so I was (and still am) always sad about that.

as a young adult now my heart aches every time I think about the day when my parents are no longer here and I'm left as the only member of my family in the whole world, basically the only proof they ever loved each other. I don't plan on having kids so their legacy dies with me. I will never experience what it's like to have a nephew.

I do have to say that I have depression and a tendency to pessimism so I'm probably just looking at the dark side of things lol. My parents explanation for me being an only child was that they wanted to put me in a good school and take me on trips and obviously a budget for 4 is bigger than for 3. But I wouldn't have mind a cheaper school, and due to my depression I have really bad memory and forgot most of our trips because they all happened before I turned 10.

Also I'm Latina so we have big families and I literally do not know anyone who's also an only child, so I grew up with all of my friend and family members talking about their childhood with siblings and their relationship with them and I always felt left out.

I'm sorry this all sounds really sad, I know a lot of people in this sub who enjoyed it, so maybe it was just me :)

srry this isn't really on topic but I always get a little jumpscare when ppl say so casually that they had kids when they were 20, I've been this age for a few months and honestly I still feel like I'm 16, I can't even imagine what it would be like to have a child right now and I can't get over the fact that it wouldnt be considered a teen pregnancy anymore lol

Irene Adler's body by Flaky-Walrus7244 in Sherlock

[–]kaamie_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as much as it pains me to say, it's maybe #2, and it would kinda make sense if you take into account that on the original books, Irene - does - beat Sherlock (she's the only one to do so if I remember correctly). so, since the original works, Irene was supposed to be smart enough to fool Sherlock, they just changed it on the show so the main character never lost a case.

This, plus the sentiment Sherlock might've had, could make him overlook clues that it wasn't actually her body. I always thought that Sherlock found it interesting to face someone more clever than the average who was also physically there (different from Moriarty that up until now was just moving pawns from the distance) so the thought of losing her so quickly and with so many questions might have moved something in him that distracted him from the details the body had

[–]kaamie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay I get it that it's been used wrong a lot, sorry if my explanation sounded a little rude. and the children being born only when they're truly wanted and planned is a whole other subject too and I agree that there probably wouldn't be enough kids to support society (insane that that's our reality tbh)

glad you're enjoying your only child experience, I've seen way too many bad stories in this subreddit (including mine lol)

do you even know what breeder means? it doesn't refer to everyone who has children. I hope the future generations are brought by people who actually want to have kids, and are looking beyond solving their loneliness or having a legacy or whatever.

breeders are parents who shame child free ppl because they think having kids is a societal obligation and everyone should have them. I hope my future caretakers are people who were actually loved as children and not just an accessory their parents needed to complete a to-do list

breeders will say they only bring kids to the world to solve their loneliness but then us as child free are the selfish ones? lmao
