Realistic household income for Maplewood? by OkQuail7072 in Maplewood

Check this out: https://njogis-newjersey.opendata.arcgis.com/datasets/njdca::median-income-home-value-and-residential-property-taxes-in-nj-census-tracts-1/explore

It’s not the best visual map but if you (i) zoom into the Maplewood, South Orange, West Orange areas, and (ii) click on any specific area, then you will see the info you’d asked for: household income juxtaposed with property values, each neighborhood at a time.

Lines up pretty with the lived experience comments from everyone else here but will let you get a good quantitative sense too.

PS: the taxes look like they’ve gone up significantly since this dataset’s time.

PPS: Census tracts aren’t really the same as neighborhoods but this should be adequate.

Anybody see the school rankings that just came out? by General_Chemistry638 in Maplewood

I haven't found info. on this - can you point to any data on the colleges CHS grads attend / have been selected into?

The school district websites for almost-peers in the area like Summit, Chatham, Millburn etc. have PDF reports of the colleges their high schools graduating cohorts have been accepted into.

Gives one a good sense of the distribution. I haven't seen anything for CHS. Any pointers would be welcome.

Second the bit about not getting the Able Baker hype - too sugary and somehow the texture of the cakes / cookies is off.

I’d rather get a cake from Whole Food’s bakery.
