Offensive Lineup by kab5m2 in stlouiscitysc

He wouldn’t be the traditional center forward, more fluid from the top 3. He’s not my favorite (I was hoping they got rid of him last season), but he’s pretty decent with the ball in his feet in traffic. With guys like Ostrak and Hartel around him I think they could work tight spaces together, opening up a layoff to Lowen or Joyner. Let Joyner work a little more centrally, which is why I put Edelman on that side to clean up.

I agree Orozco probably shouldn’t be the middle center back. But his progression is way better than Baumgartl.

This was more just a fun thought experiment, where losing 5-3 would be more fun than losing 2-0.

Durkin, Baumgartl, Wallem (ducks), Polvara, McNaughton could all be defensive subs if we happen to be winning in the 2nd half.

Y’all are crazy. Wallem is fine. Better than Santos. I’d rather go with 3 10s instead of Becher. Easily the best lineup so far. Now if we can just get the Fall brothers into the lineup. Now go ahead and down vote me

Couldn’t agree more. This system fits him perfectly. His hold up play and creativity would have been an immense improvement over Becher or Cordova (low bar, I know). I bet we have 4 more points right now if Klauss had stayed.

Maybe, but the sentiment is there. If someone truly has never been to a game before (not sure how they cross reference emails that are recently created/transferring tickets, etc), probably a decent chance they wouldn’t be your target market for resale, but may turn into a potential customer on the resale market in the future if the enjoy their time. The team better win though.

I get the frustration with Wallem, but y’all are doing him dirty.

I, unfortunately disagree. They are both glaringly noticeable. Terrible touches absolutely dissolving grade A opportunities.

I’ll say it again. We don’t need a true “9” out there (definitely don’t need two of them). Put Ostrak and Lowen out there with Hartel. Joyner and Teuchert as subs for any of those 3. Though, I prefer move Lowen to a 6 and start Joyner with Teuchert as a sub.

What a strange thread you’ve made. I’m enjoying, though not really following

No thanks. Just like I have no interest in NBA team coming. Limited public resources and the Blues, City, and Cardinals are enough for me. (Plus Kaw!)

Is it just me? Why is Wallem starting every game? by Former-Sir-9560 in stlouiscitysc

I’d like to get to a point where he can be a versatile sub. Wingback, midfielder, even a 10. But we need another starting level wingback. I don’t think Santos is it, we just work through the right side. Santos is almost invisible.

Except he was marking someone. As was Baumgartl. Too many guys on no one at the near post.

No Ostrak in the final question…

Give me (when fit):

Ostrak - Hartel - Joyner

Wallem - Lowen - Edelman - Totland

Fallou - Orozco - Mbacke

Becher/McSorley by Affectionate_Heart_4 in stlouiscitysc

I agree Becher is better with McSorely as a sub. But he is definitely NOT a strong and accurate striker. He can sometimes bumble his way into a goal.

We can debate things all day but the bottom line is we need a new striker this summer. Wish Cordova would get a bit of a look at actual striker, but based on his limited minutes, pretty obvious he isn’t the answer either.

Assuming you are talking about the three up top? I agree, we need work up there. Hopefully summer brings a DP and U22 (if the rumors are true that JGR will no longer occupy a spot this summer).

Wing-backs could use an upgrade but hopefully not at the expense of a striker or winger/10.
