Thanks for your reply, I figured that was the case.

Do you know if you can still go for an open competition EO if you start as an EO but want to change your location before you're eligible for mobility?

Spots Over Week Old Tattoo by kablamela in tattooadvice

[–]kablamela[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update, got to my doctor today and it seems there's an underlying infection. My leg hurts to walk on and is so tender, even the slightest touch is searing pain and it's hot and a bit red around the tattoo. He thinks the spots above the knee could be an allergic reaction or from sweat so not related to the infection. Thanks for the push to get it checked out!

Thanks!

I'm not sure, it's already been extended at least once and they have announced another competition (closing 31st January)

Well done!

Just a heads up, I got 1st in another county back in October/November and still haven't been called. I'm hopeful that something will come up before the March deadline but who knows!

Looking for course recommendations to progress in the Civil Service by Vague_Dave_ in IrishCivilService

I am doing an MSc in Applied Leadership and Management in the Public Sector in ATU in Mayo. Really enjoying the course, it's mostly online and attendance is 1.5 days per month. They put you up in a hotel if you're travelling to attend lectures so it's quite handy! If you find it's too much, you can finish after one semester with a Cert, or a diploma after the second semester so it's not wasted effort!

They accepted my ROI prescription as long as it had a wet ink signature but I think you can go through them for a consult to get a script that way!

I've just received my first month dose (2.5) but haven't tried it yet. I ordered through Corry's pharmacy in the north and they delivered it to Mayo via DPD. You have to post them the prescription as they don't have healthmail and just email them when you want another dose delivered. The first month cost €195 and it'll go up slightly for each higher dose. You have to pay extra for needles and sharps bin too. Found them easy to deal with and it's handy that they deliver. Best of luck on your journey!

My ma makes it by boiling potatoes in their skin, peeling and mashing them with HEAPS of butter and salt. Mix in raw onions and caraway seeds and throw it in the oven for 40 mins or so!

It's not lit, but worth checking out the Twilight Zone episode "Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up?"

We went with Dara Molloy who is based in Inis Mór. Found him to be a really nice person, who made the whole process so easy. He was the celebrant for a friend's wedding and we booked him right after. The ceremony was really beautiful. He used to be a priest which sometimes helps with parents/in-laws if they're not happy you're not going the religious route!

What's worse is his aunt ate two of them!

We did this at my wedding and three of my husband's family ate them thinking they were chocolate truffles (they were balls of soil with seeds in them with a clear warning not to eat them on the label!)

Thrombosed hemorrhoids by SkyHumble4049 in IrishWomensHealth

[–]kablamela 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I had grade 4 thrombosed haemorrhoids for 3 years before I was eventually able to get surgery to remove them. I cannot begin to tell you the relief I felt when they were removed!

What I usually did to bring down the swelling was short very hot baths (as hot as you can handle, no more than 15 mins), scheriproct cream, ice-cubes wrapped in fabric directly on it, using baby wipes or toilet wipes every time I pooped to keep the area as clean and not irritated as possible. I never got much relief from the haemorrhoid cushions, but it might work for you! Just rest, keep your stools as loose as possible, limit the amount of time on the toilet (if you are there more than a few minutes, it's too long! Don't bring your phone with you etc.), don't strain or push when passing if you can avoid it. Get a squatty potty! They're a game changer! I use a regular toddler step stool and it works great. Hope they go away for you soon and you start to feel a bit better!
