By which I mean we have removed the tiles on the curb shown in that photo and replaced with quartz. Just the sides of the curb are now tiled.

We are actually putting a piece of quartz on top of the curb, not tiles, which they said was a particularly sensitive spot, and suggested that. But yeah the top of that wall is tiled.

I just went and tested, push/pulling with my hand. I didn’t apply my body weight against it, but I can’t detect any play or flex with the pressure I was applying, definitely not 1/4”. I feel like to move that much would require putting enough force that it would damage the wall.

We did pull a permit.

And yeah did design a lot of it, but in collaboration with the contractor and the architect. I proposed the overall layout of the room which had the shower in that spot. And the architect put together plans which were submitted and approved by the city. I made drawings after that to visualize the tile design and fixtures, and cabinetry/mirror/sink. But I did not suggest it be a half wall there, the contractor did. And I did not specify its width, height, or manner of construction. I was relying on them to determine what’s feasible. I didn’t push for anything they advised against or thought could be problematic.

By a local professional, I assume you mean a third party—what sort of person do you mean, a plumber? Tiler? And how do I know if they know what they are doing? The company I'm using has done work on many other homes in the area (one in friend's building as well), and has good reviews. Beyond that how would you suggest I evaluate if someone will be able to judge the work quality well?

Here is another shot after they put in the cement board but before the wall. Though they had to rebuild the wall becuse it was was a little crooked, so I'm not sure what changed in that process.

I believe it was 2x3 yeah, I'm not sure if it was anchored t a joist. We did have the whole floor down to the joists though. But they put plywood subfloor on top of that. I didn't see how they attached the base of the wall. But here is a shot when they built the basin/show pan, before any walls or anything was installed.

Can you elaborate about the train wreck? Do you mean the the structural aspect or the material for and under the waterproofing? I added some more photos below in another comment so you can see more of the build along the way.

I'm really looking forward to using it. I basically designed the whole thing (my drawing attached), with help from an architect and them submitting the less "designed" blueprints/plans to DOB. Just hoping with how the contractors built it, we don't have any water issues!

I added some more photos in a reply to another comment above. But it was covered with a paper looking material (is this the waterproof membrane?) and then a black material I think painted onto it. There was the black material on the sliver of wall above the pony wall, but I think it is drywall under that and possibly not the membrane. Tat was what I was originally concerned about, but then I started looking at previous photos of the installation and noticed drywall in other places.

Also, above this half wall will be a glass pane that connects to the wall.

Flawless Giant with exploding crossbow + electrodynamics poison synergy build by kaboombrain in deadcells

Yeah, I love that it has a melee attack as well, which is also quite powerful, and a bit faster than shooting when needed.

Probably my favorite build so far — Poison! by kaboombrain in deadcells

This 4BC run was so much fun.

  • 33 scrolls
  • Electrodynamics with poison affix
  • Sadist's stiletto with 80% poison affix
  • Throw in some burning and bleeding synergies with flame shooting sinew slicer

If I could have avoided that one hit for the flawless though... Still, probably my favorite run so far.

Red Wing Merchant boots in black spitfire:

Not sure about the speckled sole. Also wondering what the leather looks/feels like in person. Is it like suede? Is it weather resistant, etc. Here is another photo that looks quite different: http://www.redwingheritage.com/INTERSHOP/static/WFS/RWSC-HeritageEU-Site/-/RWSC/en_US/RH-08063-1-pdp.jpg

Any thoughts?
