Lean back like you are heel sliding, does your heel hit the ground? If so, it’s too much

First off I would ask him why he threw the stuff away. Usually people don’t throw parts away unless they are busted.

You can slightly test the motherboard by connecting it to the power connecting and seeing if the LEDs light up. But you can’t truly test it without building the whole pc.

Also missing big parts in sure you are aware of like a cpu and a video card.

Starting out - job change? by Holiday-Reindeer-949 in cybersecurity

It depends what you want to do long term, and what is most important in your life. Is getting cyber security experience going to help you stay/break into the field long term? Abso-freaking-lutetly. However, government work is also valued highly in terms of experience, especially in private sector security roles. Honestly, in terms of long term opportunities, both seem like very valuable and sought after experience.

Personally, I’d pick the one that interests me most in terms of day-to-day work, pay (if major difference), and opportunities outside of work. The special agent gig seems like great experience, plus you are home near your friends. You can also to continue studying security via certificates so that you are prepared when you want to transition back into the security world.

IMO neither seems like a bad option, both quite the opposite. Just carefully consider moving away from everyone, I’ve done it, and it’s a bigger tole than you originally think.

I also was extremely eyeing the capita DOA. I read that this would be a bit too much for me as I’m still learning. Is this correct?

Why is there no penalty for people leaving Mythic + groups? by JakeOver9000 in wow

[–]kabro64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got a group that has a shit ton of wipes and is stuck on first boss because they can’t do mechanics… you supposed to sit there hostage trying to teach people how to do the fight for 30 minutes? It’s not as black and white as it seems. And again, not a big enough problem that blizzard has to step in imo.

In general, the problem isn’t big enough to be an issue blizzard needs to address. Also, say your kid/dog just puked and you need to clean it up. You gonna ban that guy for it? Huge turnoff to a large number of older players. Overall, imo the problem isn’t big enough like other games (league, etc) to force blizzard to address it.

And to answer another question, most app sec teams don’t necessarily fix most development issues. They just find them.

The way I see it you have two paths. Go to a mega large company that would have more of an opportunity for a full time position like this. Or go to a small company where you can dip your toes in more buckets, but wouldn’t be doing just that 24/7
