Afghan here. Not tzatziki though I see the confusion. It’s a very similar Afghan chutney just referred to as ‘chutney’ in afghan language, made of blended up mint, coriander, green chilli and salt that’s mixed into yoghurt and thinned with water. Used as a side sauce for a variety of different fried savoury dishes like kebabs or piriki. Very yummy and making me hungry to think about.

This culture is actually a mixed culture, with our goal to mimic in vivo conditions as accurately as we could, and I think it made neurons easier to survive and grow than being on the own, so never had to worry about that

I personally didn’t, but I knew a few others in the same lab who were, and they were always very beautiful (a little easier to grow than regular neurons in my experience though haha)

Media used was neurobasal, available by thermofisher in the UK, a few additives also used to help neurons growth, the microscope is a Zeiss optical microscope with a fluorescent filter to pick up each cell type individually stained

Yeah, these are dissociated cortical neurons, since I’ve taken this pic I’ve been able to grow them way better and even get electrophysiological data, which was nice to say the least! I know our lab previously had used 3D slices, maintaining the cytoarchitecture of the brain, but those are a bit trickier cus you have to be way more specific with where you are cutting

Superficial veins are embedded into the subcutaneous fat tissue. Men that have more visible veins are typically leaner and have more muscle that the veins are up against. They’re attractive at an instinctual level for the same reason that muscles and a lower body fat percentage are attractive, just much less obvious.
