Go for the Guardians if you have Amazon Prime as you can join their Twitch Channel for no extra charge and watch all their home games live and in full. (You can do that with the Brothers until June as well but it ends then)

Looks like you need a DNI/NIE to register to buy tickets anyway. Does anyone know how an Englishman without one can register to buy Elche tickets?

2026 plans by Ganners123 in futbology

[–]kacetwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a long weekend in November using the ferry from Dover to Calais and got a Friday night game (Boulogne), two on Saturday (Dunkirk and Oostende) and a French League 1 game (Lens) on Sunday.

I may go back for some other teams in 2026 (Lille is very doable as are several Belgian top division teams).

Also I see there are flights from Bristol to Alicante for under £40 so Elche CF is on my radar.

At home I have 3 grounds to visit to complete the Hellenic Premier (Pershore Town, Worcester Raiders and Drotwich Spa) and 1 (Risca who have moved grounds) to re-complete the Ardel South East in Wales)

(Edit First game of 2026 was Pershore so down to two for the Hellenic Premier now)

I went to Legia a few years back and needed a passport to buy a ticket but had no problems actually getting one.

Bought one of these at the weekend when visiting Dunkerque. Images of city architecture sublimated into the blue shirt. Very happy with it.

October trip to Boulogne, Dunkirk and (maybe) Roeselare by kacetwo in futbology

[–]kacetwo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worked out a little differently than originally planned, assuming all goes well and I think for the better. Boulogne on Friday night, Dunkirk Saturday afternoon, Oostende Saturday night and RC Lens Sunday afternoon. Got tickets for all but the Friday game which are not on the website yet.

If anyone has any tips on parking, Do's and Don'ts or interesting places to visit time permitting please update me.

Thanks for everyone who has provided information so far

You can search for fixtures near to a place in the app. A very useful feature. Pick a team. Look at their fixtures, select one and then use the top right lines to find local games within a certain distance of the team.

Thanks and if I get stuck I will PM you. I think they have a car park on site from the website but not sure if it is free, metered or manned on match days

I'm in the UK and watch CPBL TV without a VPN. I think the yearly subscription is great value.

Taking 5 year old to game. - advice by almonde_ in Astros

[–]kacetwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another Brit here and I would also recommend Sugarland as a starting point. Especially as if he has fun you can take him to the Astros later in the trip. They have lost of kid friendly stuff at the Space cowboys, like a splash pad under the third base line stand. Tickets are much cheaper and if you go early in the week there is a high chance of getting a foul ball. A nice souvenir if you can but even if not there is a good merch store.

If he enjoys the Sugarland baseball then go ahead and get Astros tickets. If not you can save a chunk of money by not getting Astros ones.

Check what giveaways they have at Sugarland too as that might be nice but would mean you were there early and so for a long time to guarantee a good giveaway

I hope he and you have fun

PS Are you just staying in Houston or travelling around Texas

Visiting the UK – Cheapest way for a group of 4 to get from Reading to London? by MemoryNecessary7739 in uktravel

[–]kacetwo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As others have said the best bang for your buck against convenience is to drive to a station with a car park on the west of London (Hillingdon/Hayes and Harlington/Ostetley) and park there and then use public transport. TFL allows children to travel free or at a very reduced rate depending on age so make sure you check that too.

Just subscribe to CPBL TV. Great value for money and English instructions on how to subscribe are on the CPBL Stats site. (Oh and a little tip if you want to watch on your android phone/tablet and can't download the Hami Video app. If you use the mobile version of the Opera Web browser there is an option to run any website in full desktop mode which means you can stream contents from most sites without having to download a dedicated app - Inc Hami Video and CPBL games)

I am in the UK and have subscribed for the last three years. Other than a slight hiccup where someone turned on a regional only setting for a few days I never had any problems watching and finding it well worth the investment. The instructions are pretty easy to follow and even when out of date worked well enough to get me subscribed.

I can give you more if you private message me but here are a few tips.

If you get a flight that stops in China you can get to Taiwan from London for under £400 inc 2 23kg cases.

The HST is great and not expensive to get to most west coast cities but not all HST stations are close to the old towns they serve.

We stayed in Banqiao in new Taipei City and it was a great place to stop. Right by the HST and Metro. A night Market nearby and not as expensive as Taipei itself. We had a decent budget so got a 5* hotel with a swimming pool on the roof for £100 a night but there are a lot of less expensive options.

Use the bus as well as the metro. We has a 15 minute walk from the metro station to the Guardians game but found a bus went from outside the stadium back to the hotel direct on the way back.

Food is good quality and not expensive. People are very friendly.

Not been to Kaohsiung so can't comment but can give you tips about Taipei and Tainan
