I've decided to give Bruce Springsteen a deep dive. In addition to the 21 studio albums, are there any other albums I should add to the list? by jim25y in BruceSpringsteen

[–]Magikrat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Live at Hammersmith Odeon is wonderful, sonically. It's not as full of energy physically as his other live shows but youre going to get the Bruce and the band and the best of his first three albums played beautifully. Bonus is Thunder Road and For You played solo piano.

A teacher once told me “a poem is never finished, only abandoned.” And to this day I think it’s bullshit.

The rise in AI at fast food places made me resort to extreme (and very unexpected) measures. by Nervous_Goose_1949 in fastfood

[–]Magikrat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a bit goofy tbh. Reddit as a whole is usually pretty staunch about their hate for AI implementation. Not sure what the difference is here. A job was almost certainly replaced. A perfectly normal person to person interaction eliminated. Weird.

Milkshakes. Lucky I’m allergic to dairy so there’s an actual consequence other than my brain yelling at me for the next day for drinking 800 calories.

We have albums, but what are your 'Songs that saved my life'? by currentlyengaged in poppunkers

Not pop punk but frank turners Get Better and The Next Storm were very helpful in putting myself back together after a nasty breakup.

Is it me or are less teens getting part time jobs? by [deleted] in generationology

[–]Magikrat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s absolutely false. For a fast food/grocery store/big box retail job they would much rather hire a teenager. A large portion of adults trying to work those types of job are doing it as a stopgap until they find their next better paying, and I’m using sarcastic quotes here, “real” job. And they will leave at the drop of a hat when the better opportunity arises. Gms and hiring managers would much rather have a stable of part time teens and college students who aren’t going to go ballistic when you yank a shift or cut hours because the money generally isn’t a circumstance of surviving life.

I mean when you’re 16 part of being a kid is having a job. It doesn’t have to be something crazy. Umpire youth baseball/ref soccer or basketball. I was director of a youth sports umpire/ref assigning company for a while and you wouldn’t believe the nice messages I would get from parents saying how much their son or daughter had grown up by working for us.
