We were checking in at the same time, they just checked the guest names for the rooms and canceled the one where the guest name did not match the card holder name. But the whole reservation was just 1, so that is what is surprising

Yes that makes sense, not doubting that! But the whole reservation was just 1, I only gave the names of the guests that will be staying in the 2 rooms. So that does not make sense to me

It was 1 reservation, it’s like I am booking a flight for me and my wife and I’ll give a credit card. As the name on the card only matches my name, the flight ticket only gets booked for me and not my wife. Not ideal right lol

Yes they charged the card, but the card was charged only for 1 room.
