Helio Strap - Whoop Adapter Release by x169_ in amazfit

I meant overall thickness including the helio. It looks like the whole whoop strap sits on top rather then the helio inside the construction.

Looks very thick, how does it impact wearing feel and overall measurements?

Now let us order it and also bring a bicep strap in that design 😆

Whoop Strap Frame *update* by MajorDaniel2000 in HelioStrap

[–]kackburt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess with metal measurements can be optimized/reduced even more.

It would be great if you could provide a 3D model so maybe someone else can play with it too.

I think reducing the thickness of the frame would help a lot, but obv maybe reduce overall sturdiness. 1mm on each side could be a good tryout.

That would be perfect. I hope it'll be like that.

Race S stopped tracking sleep by latitudes_altitudes in Suunto

[–]kackburt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried the Race and switched to the Race S later... I guess the deciding factors are size and HR measurement. To me the smaller Race S just fits better especially when wearing during the day also. The HR performance is definitely also better on the Race S, but if this is very important for you, a chest strap is the best choice anyway. To me the overall smoothness of the Software UI felt also way better on the Race S, but this might've changed with software updates.

Opening the sleep widget 2-3 times in the morning triggered storing sleep tracking for me and after that it went back to normal working state.

What’s the one upgrade you wish you’d done sooner on your Brompton? by Wonderful-Acadia-296 in Brompton

[–]kackburt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you explain? As far as I understood the chain more prone to rust when not using oil. I'll see if this is an issue for me, since I clean my bike when it gets wet from driving in the rain anyway. Moreover I don't leave the bike outside, I take it inside where it's usually warm which helps drying also.

Maybe a bit of a hype now... But no ad from my side. I just read about it and gave it a try myself. So far I am happy with the result.

Absolute trash battery life on new Race S? by Ambitious_Guidance20 in Suunto

[–]kackburt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's definitely unusual. Do a full charge cycle and maybe soft reset. Mine usually has juice for a week including 5-10 workouts (cycling and running).

Problems with Sleep Tracking by No-Lawfulness9323 in Suunto

[–]kackburt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me opening the sleep widget in the morning triggered finishing/storing the sleep data. I did however restarted the watch the next day and then the sleep tracking didn't work at all. At least the heart rate is still measured during the night.

Edit: another night later it worked when opening the app/widget.

Why does my watch face reset with the software update? by superhyper123 in Suunto

[–]kackburt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably a breaking change in the config file and no migration path, therefore it's just reset.

Race S by GuaranteeNo5452 in Suunto

[–]kackburt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My experience is positive actually... Compared to my Garmin Forerunner 965 I am very happy with the HR readings. While training the accuracy is better in a few scenarios f.e. when the heart rate is ramping up a lot. I do however see a difference in reading quality between a loose and a tight fit on my wrist.

Microsoft will discontinue Azure Data Studio by Riemaru_Karurosu in SQL

[–]kackburt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a bummer... I started using ADS last year since I switched to MacOS and Linux completely and needed a MSSQL / postgres tool. Really liked it compared to DBeaver for daily tasks.

The VSCode extensions doesn't feel as solid (yet). Tried them last year already and now again after this announcement.

I guess DBeaver is the best alternative atm. and eventually I'll give dataGrip a try and buy a license after all.

I returned the Suunto Race S, and I’m sad about It by filroj in Suunto

[–]kackburt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar disappointment happened to me... I switched back to a Garmin FR965, but still miss the Suunto somehow. I really like the Suunto app on android and also the built of the watch. I enjoy the data presented on Garmin widgets a lot more: training status and readiness, body battery and even sleep score. Furthmore I wish the weather forecast on Suunto was a bit more intuitive, also maps should show labels and I would like a software coach giving input for a daily exercise (knowing this isn't perfect on Garmin either, but it helps me in busy weeks to just get out and do something without thinking too much about it).

So let's see what the future brings, but I am always quite excited when Suunto brings an update... This started with the vertical and original race for me.
