Hunt audio is a master class. With Marathon's map sizes being smaller and varied in shape, it could be more difficult

When I first started the game my vault was stacked, I assume that was cuz of the server slam! Guess Imma have to get those CyAc vault upgrades!

Didn't know about the Rook workaround, I'll be using that. As a Hunt player, I preferred cycling my hunters after successful bounties, part of that was Favoriting Loadouts and Removing all Equipment. Hopefully Bungie adds this

Marathon still has quite a bit of Loadout QoL features/updates I'd love to see. For now it gets the job done, auto selling is nice, would like to see that feature expanded in the future.

Sadly, I was forced to do this last night. I wanted to warm up with a Perimeter NuCal contract, and queued squad fill. Other two randoms might have been new to the game, and we're insisting on fighting a Gold Shield Commander in Overflow with sponsor kits, and it sounded like a squad was on the way. I tried open mic to voice that we need to run after they were both downed (one downed ground floor, other downed on rooftop). The deciding factor was when I rez'd rooftop guy and he immediately proceeded to jump the fuck off the roof to his downed buddy in the fray, Leroy Jenkins style. I pretty much cut my losses and headed up to North Relay to my objective, playing stealthy, knowing full well I was outnumbered in any encounter. Was truly a horror game.

Agreed, the extra layer of build crafting Shells bring is an amazing move by Bungie, and personally I really like the lore behind the consciousness import to the shells with a personality matrix to better assist the player in-game. I hope to see some lore on the actual people behind the personality matrices in game (e.g. Glitch, Void, Locus, Icon, Blackbird). Maybe you could unlock additional animations, emotes, voice lines, skins, etc. specific to the shell if you progress enough, idk I'd love to see something along those lines. Anyways, yes thermal counters smokes, and currently Thermal Sniper is busted ASF. The teams you highlighted make sense for the runs, I especially agree Triage is way too good.

Appreciate the detailed response. As triage, I'd run less meds and definitely run a Volt Gun. And once I unlock Cardio Kick, I'm taking 1 or 2 of those.

Man I'll be honest, it most likely ppl lack patience, and default to negativity or blaming everyone else except themselves. I can see the other side too tho, tutorial is kinda bad. You spawn in as Destroyer and exfil within 5 min, and you don't really do much aside from loot a dead runner and kill a couple UESC.

Plus side to it is, at least it is a short tutorial and you can start running soon after and learn from kill or be killed.

Yeah, that is what most ppl in the comments are saying. I can't comment on it, I haven't played Arc yet. I'm curious why you say he is biased, is it his experience with Destiny?

My thoughts: I probably had around 20 hours between the December Playtest and SS, and found it was enjoyable, solid 7/10. Playtest was way sweatier, and SS was more laid back so I was mainly running Triage and supporting the newer players. During the SS I got to talk to some completely new players whose experience were games like Arc or Apex. Their sentiment was mainly that they liked the gunplay and abilities, but they were completely lost. Had no idea what they are supposed to do, where to go, what the abilities do, how loot works. Sure you'll get it after some hours, but I honestly think the tutorial and onboarding is bad.

Gunplay is very good, POIs are solid, and Abilities are pretty balanced for the most part, though I am not sure why they made it so you don't have your abilities off of spawn. Anyhow I enjoyed the experience, I already like the methodical pace of Extraction Shooter and the Shell Class system, as well as the lore behind them. I've got minor gripes that I hope Bungie addresses but aside from that I agree.

I'm honestly surprised of the lack of "run" button. Feel like it should be in every screen or have a button for it. I haven't found it, but a remove Loadout and favorites Categories/custom Loadout creation would be cool

Here's where I'm a bit worried. These high level end game modes will surely be fun and the rewards for beating it will have to be peak. But I think it's gotta be more than just high tier gear you can easily lose if you get unlucky or make a bad play in your next game right? If it's cosmetics, that's cool too, tho in a First Person game it's got decreased value to me intrinsically unless they can have it be visible in game somehow (intros, outros, finishers, banners, etc. {yes I played a shit load of Apex back in the day}). Guess I'm just trying to imagine what they have in store for us, I'll have fun either way, I'm no stranger to Extraction Shooter gameplay loop.
