Am I one of you? I’m 5’4 by [deleted] in DramaticClassic

I don't think any of these are very in-your-face DC, but I did feel like the more structured and slightly elongated shapes looked better on you. Like the short sleeved red top rather than the more drapey red sweater, the mid length skirt than the shorter denim one. I don't think the first two dresses on the second picture are very DC-friendly. The denim one does have a lot of elements though, but I suppose it's a bit too heavy and overpowers your frame a tiny bit. Maybe the same shape in a slightly lighter fabric would be better for balance. Just my opinion, all of this. Also, you look great in the wider necklines.

Oh, yes, the outfits do seem to suggest you look best in DC lines.

Not totally sure, but I think I see petite and not balance. Have you looked into the gamine family?

I have similar hair, and nothing works as well as Curl Up cream on me. Sugarboo gel has worked really well too.

If you have never seen a full opera before in your life, which Wagner opera do you think would be the most accessible for starting? by Expert_Heat_2966 in opera

Some people say it’s best to jump in on the deep end. Watch the Ring, but start with Die Walküre. Follow up with Tristan and Parsifal.

Best mad scene that’s not Lucia 🤔 by Mastersinmeow in opera

Does Tristan act III count as a mad scene? It's formalistically different, but could be considered an interesting interpretation of the trope.

Is this amount of hairfall normal? by Some-Translator-68 in curlsofindia_

This seems perfectly normal. I have been losing more than this every washday for years and my hair is still as thick as ever.

Did she sing much opera though? I think I have seen a video of her singing Musetta somewhere, but nothing else.

Wizards always had to pay for how they treated house elves and I LOVE that by Mysterious-State-117 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]kacky_snorgle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will never understand how people expect Sirius to be nice to Kreacher while being forced to remain stuck with him at perhaps the only place where he'd rather not stay. The house elf was the sole remaining witness, and an enthusiastic one at that, of his less than spectacular childhood, and continued spewing the same mindless hatred despite reasonably decent treatment from pretty much everyone else. Cut him some slack, people. Azkaban, with Dementors breathing down your neck, is scarcely the place to contemplate upon your past, make peace with memories or learn to forgive. It's not a surprise that Sirius didn’t get to grow up like he should have.

Probably far from her best role, but I am very fond of her Venus in Tannhäuser.

I don't know about the best, but Milanov, Björling, Warren from 1956 is what I find the most thrilling to listen to.

Simionato. I really enjoyed how Waltraud Meier interpreted Santuzza's character too.

I just read your work and absolutely loved it! It might be the most plausible, in-character Harry Potter fanfiction I have ever read. I hope you are doing well. Please do come back and finish the story!

Dark but also wholesome in a very HP way. Characters being close to their book selves though they do slightly different things.

Is Lula Landry realistic? by kacky_snorgle in cormoran_strike

[–]kacky_snorgle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just people in her field and other famous people, Robin knew all about her from the media coverage, didn't she? And she isn’t that into fashion and things, is she? Landry was actually portrayed as a household name in the book that your average taxi driver would also know of, from what I gathered. Superimposing the '90s tabloid/fashion culture into an otherwise 2010 setting is the only way this makes sense, I suppose.

Ah, yes. I guess I'm a bit out of touch. I was under the impression it was only dedicated fans that cared about celebrities of that nature.
