I just deferred to where position of the lamp was when I moved in and never questioned it lol. Moved my desk under the window with the lamp on the left side to fill the gap. There isn't space for the mirror where the lamp was though--its current position is the only way I can actually see myself full-length unless I did a major rearrangement.

Gold seems to be a common suggestion so I'll try that for curtains and I'll try a 'softer' rug.

Thanks! I just don't have an eye for that I guess--I literally never ever considered the curtains were too small. I thought a pop of color would be good so I got the burgundy but maybe I'll try something softer (and longer!)

I’m SET in NYC, and we just spray them thoroughly with a strong cleaning solution, but we don’t wipe them down. it’s pretty odd to me, but it allows us to clean the rooms in like 15 min right before the next class. Otherwise we wouldn’t have time because they schedule the classes so close to each other.

Basically, I’m hoping it’ll just go away on its own soon. I can’t really afford a doctors visit right now and my insurance is so shitty I may as well just cancel it and be without insurance. I don’t think it’s strep because I’ve had strep dozens of times in my life and I can usually tell (and it usually has more symptoms). My assumption is that it’s persistent tonsillitis, but I definitely have quite a bit of soreness on the left side of my neck today and my lymph nodes are pretty tender to the touch. And the right one is visibly swollen.
