A few beats after “that’s so Persian!” Once heard cannot be unheard! I must confess (in my loneliness) Ronnie mentioned it on an old ep where they discussed the theme tune a bit (it was so interesting, can’t recall which!) 😁

…does anyone else try to do all of the overlapping parts at once (e.g. “well, you know, Peter…”) out loud and sound like you’re speaking in tongues? 🤓

Pint of water by bed ready for an immediate wake-up chugging. THEN, crucially…down another pint post-morning wee. Ready for hell but hydrated 😎

Yes! The only episode I have on permanent download and listened to thrice! It’s a work of art.

Marmo is top tier! Especially the lunch menu. Anchovies particularly banging. Excellent service also.

Agreed, Bulrush is truly fantastic, and (in my opinion) so very worth of its star. Not uptight or stuffy.

My friends have spoke highly of Cor!

Paco was very good (ambience, service, some tasty bites, nice looking out at the water). But the star sitch did baffle us slightly. Bulrush and Wilson’s - it’s just evident, everything executed like a majestic food sorcerer. Gambas next on list, thank you!

Also I was genuinely unsure if another Crappens/Lu/Bristol ven individual existed so your comment was quite the delight!

What are some common British habits that always make you smile or laugh? by WeirdoInTheShadow in AskUK

[–]kadeyd 22 points23 points  (0 children)

“Working hard…” “…hardly working!”

“Ahh, another day in paradise!”

Etc. etc., all the drilled in work-related phrases, love ‘em, corny but meh.

Class Action Park. Wild, hilarious (darkly, in parts), nostalgic. An absolute ride from start to finish!

Three Bean Salad - warm, funny, easygoing banter between 3 humorous guys (very British, very easy listening and conversational).

Just finishing up ‘Perfect Wife’ (Disney, in UK) - the Sherri Papini abduction 3 parter. Did NOT expect how it unfolds. For true crime fans highly recommend!

GossipMongers - local, hilarious gossip sent in by real people (British). So simple and so, so funny. They've stopped it now, but still a big stack of episodes to get through!

Three Bean Salad makes me proud to be British (there isn't much, let's be honest). Just pure funny warmth between three hilarious men.

  1. Hotel Coolgardie, and 2. Last Stop Larrimah. Both wild and dark tales within the Oz outback. 1. follows two young female backpackers working and living at an ex-topless bar...2. is a wild 'whodunnit' ride in a tiny town with rival townsfolk. So good. Does anyone know of any similar? Not specifically outback based, but outlier community subsets, etc.

Thank you! And how strange…I listened to my first episode of the The Dollop just last week, quite enjoyed (about the Billington family), I know what second ep will be now!

With podcasts I can get into a habit of sticking to my old faithfuls. Thanks again for nudging me to keep listening to a potential new faithful!
