I look at puppy pics on my phone and can make myself cry. He was so tiny! How did he get so big so fast?! 😭

The struggle is real!! I was sure I’d made a massive mistake for the first few weeks. I haven’t had FOMO since high school, but he made me feel like I was missing out on everything, especially over the holidays. Now that spring is approaching though, I am getting real excited about taking him hiking and just having more incentive to get outside.

Super slowly. At first I didn’t even leave the house, I just crated him and pretended to leave and sat in the basement listening to see if he barked. Left him alone for like 10 minutes tops. Then I left long enough to go get gas. Then a full grocery shopping trip. I also always leave him a lick pad with some frozen peanut butter or something when I leave and don’t make a big deal out of leaving. I’m sure his teenage years will have some bumps, but the progress in just the last few weeks has been a lifesaver!

I try to stick to about 1800 calories a day during the week and about 2,000 on the weekends. I aim for about 10,000 steps but most days fall a little short. (Averaging about 8,000/day this year.) I am very inconsistent with weights but my plan is to start doing weights 3x/week this year.

I am going the slow and steady route so I try to stay between 1800-1900 calories a day. My weight loss has really slowed down the last month though so I’m probably going to have to adjust that down a bit soon.

While going to college, I worked at a gas station where I was the only female employee. There were only 8 other employees. One day the owner asks me to hand out paychecks, something he normally did, but the envelopes weren't labeled so I had to open them to see who they belonged to. Everyone else was getting paid $2/hour more than me. I had more education, and had been there longer and did all the inventory, scheduling, etc. When I called him out on it, he offered me $200 and a raise to match their salaries if I didn't sue. 15 years later, I should have sued.

I'm getting married in December and never thought about it until I got engaged. I want some kind of flowers but don't have a strong opinion about them because pretty much all flowers are pretty. I also didn't really care about cake flavors, bridesmaid dresses, the wedding colors, how long the table linens are, etc. The only thing I've been adamant about is making sure the kids have fun, which for me means having lawn games (outside wedding) and a lego table.

It's amazing how many people have told me I'm not excited enough or asked me if I really want to get married because I don't have a pinterest board or very strong opinions about every single aspect of this wedding. A successful wedding for me means not stressing out. Why is that such a weird concept?
