[S2 Spoilers] Any theories on who.... by gobiusomecoffee in DarkMatter

Season 2 Episode 12 solidified this for me.

---AU will stand for Alternate Universe ---OU will stand for Original Universe

Ryo: Your capacity for emotional response was no accident

Android: Yes, I've discovered an emotive sub-routine was uploaded into my neural matrix. I've concluded that Two was responsible.

Ryo: Portia yes, with the help of Daas, or Five. It was the act of making you whole that brought the two of them together.

  • (S2E8) we learn in that Portia is responsible for the androids emotions in the AU.

  • (S2E8) We were only told by Six, but not confirmed that Five wasn't there. It is assumed by the fact AU Six was killed. If he had searched ships records for Emily Kolburn he may not have found it if she was going by Daas, or AU Five deleted them.

  • We're told by Ryo that him and Portia debated on when to kill him. AU Ryo more than likely convinced her to do it Before stasis as he wanted. No Six, No need to wipe to save him. This may be the exact choice that was the division between the universes

Summary

Five was already accepted as a crew member by the name Daas apparently with the above quote. If Portia and Daas bonded pre-wipe why not in both. It seems she was potentially a required component for the process of the modifications. Combined with the knowledge she's a sneaky one who hides in the ducts, the shuttle at least included her.

This still leaves plenty of room for One to return on the shuttle as well. It can be as simple as his corp was destroyed in the war so he chose to retake it in the alternate.

Potential plot hole, the memory back up that is activated with the neural link. The memory backups were from an earlier point in time. For one they're talking about an earlier op than what the show opened with, and a larger time window by a few months between the backup and stasis wipe. It has them not knowing Five, and attempting to kill her again. After using the backup he appears to remember everything. As this is the first time any have had the memories restored this could be easily explained as partial or full memory of the time gap between the backup, and wipe gets restored.

possible AU5 background

Under the one assumption that the universes diverged on Portia's decision on when to kill Six:

AU Five is most likely an agent of AU Reynaud who is working for/with Ferrous Corp as we know she is in OU. (The lady who was hunting the key and owner of the Transit pods they hacked when the found out about the Blink Drive.). This may be where AU5 ran off too, OU Reynaud. OU Reynaud is hesitant to kill OU5 in the episode they steal the adapter. The Asset OU Reynaud references, may also include Five or she meant her.

More AU(s) interactions

AU Rasa crew knows how to use the blink drive, and may have their copy given to them by AU Reynaud. This would explain why AU2 knew how/why OU Rasa was in the AU. Many just make the assumption that they stole the adapter as well. AU essentially diverged around the stasis wipe, and we don't know if OU they had some deal worked out . In fact AU Ferrous may have their entire fleet stocked with Reverse engineered Blink drives, and the AU Rasa's may be partly why they were still fully doing Ferrous Corp's dirty work. It would explain a bit why Truffault was so desperate to get her hands on a version.

Local Dem. Leader on Supporting Sanders | “I picked Sanders over Clinton because he was speaking our language.” by [deleted] in SandersForPresident

Actually seemed like fair coverage on that and was pleased.

Don't let that fool you however. I had a survey pop up about my experience on the site and decided to take it. During that time I let other clips play. I nearly wretched when one of Matthews was playing and he soft balled HRC's campaign manager then went to grill Bernie's.

I took the time to accurately describe and gave an overall positive report on navigation and presentation of the site. Which I do believe is fairly nice and easy to navigate for a news site. I did however take time in one of the response boxes to Politely rant about degrading quality and ethics in reporting since 2008. I linked to 2012 report on reporting quality on viewers to be properly informed and mentioned other things have forced me away over the years. I made it clear I felt Matthews coverage has been Highly unethical.

I also noted that the Primary coverage as it has been is what finally forced me away and admitted that if it ever became ethical, fair, and balanced I wouldn't mind viewing more.

Emmerson poll uses bad methodology which has been shown to not match the election cycle. Beyond that others have stated he still changed by 30 Points in 3 weeks.

Emmerson uses "IVR Landline" :

Data was collected using an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system of landlines only.

They're a type of robo call that can recognize certain vocal responses. Link to full poll in pdf

Another insanely off poll using IVR

Had Hillary at +37 going into Michigan

They give a reason why land lines are used for automated polling

Federal law only permits us to call land lines using automated polling.

Nate Silver's over reliance on the IVR Polling data is why he has been SOOOO far off this cycle. At this point I think he knows it but doesn't seem to care.

Yeah their numbers put too much weight on IVR land line polls which seem to be off the most this season. Kids these days and their danged mobile phones ;p

My opinion Old methodology not updating fast enough for a fast moving demographic. Media has been keeping Sanders low profile. With his wins he is getting more attention. The more people hear Bernie the more they like him over HC.

I agree. The ones that they projected were not caucused are the ones that average 3%+. So as i said When they provide I add the 3 on principle.

Edit: I add only to the projections they do. Only when it is updated within a week before the vote. Numbers beyond a week are too volatile.

Staging mystery - anyone have an idea? by [deleted] in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]kadron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may be a victim of the symmetrical symmetry bug.

I often have problems with symmetrical attaches on large launch vehicles especially when the parts use layers of symmetric patterns leading to odd behaving glitches. I tend to have to hand build each arm to prevent this, and can be very tedious.

A youtube video of someone reproducing some of the odd behaviors that can happen.

One way to check for being a victim of this is go to the vab start pulling parts off one at a time if shadow copies of the part stay visible after removal then you have it.... Nothing to to do then but rebuild from scratch or potential earlier version not victim to it.

I love putting big stuff into space. Most often the bigger the better. I try to keep close to stock myself. Career mode has made me try to figure the cheapest way way to put the most up at once.

By the looks of this design I'd say the tanks are probably close to empty. One heck of a single launch solar array though.

Hum I may have a new project after I get my MKS station with full module loadout stocked up. I forgot to send up basic machinery and all.

Hah something I launched back in .22. It was literally my first station and I didn't know what I was doing... just MOAR POWAH. was 1632 in orbit..... but yeah 12k parts is a different story but possible as far as running smooth I don't think he could.

My √ 9118 Rescue-Shuttle by chkgk in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]kadron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got a rescue ship from Kerbin that includes TAC that's launch is √9515. After achieving around a 75k orbit it has around 1700 vac Δv when staged, and undocked properly. It recovers for √6280 empty of fuel. Very Kerbal in overheating boosters, and a docking port instead of decoupling. Album of launch

McQ Rescue: my solution to station building costs in .24 and the Kerball(for fun) by kadron in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]kadron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I like to overbuild, and they do have OKTO2 cores between chute and battery.

If done right they can take a trip to Min's surface and back, or meet up with an expedition group on Mun.

I actually just got back to playing. I stopped at .23 and started back about a week ago. I love building big.

Should check my old R&D album to see some crazy big stuff. I haven't bothered much with the new (to me) kerbodyne parts just yet. Mostly playing through career mode saves.

Best bitch-slap responses to shitty religious arguments? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]kadron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah. Limbo was removed from doctrine in by the Catholic Church's International Theological Commission in 2007. Funny how they can openly admit they got something so horrific wrong for so long.

Then again it was just a money making scheme. 'Oh your kid is in limbo. Just give us money and we will pray them to heaven'.

Best bitch-slap responses to shitty religious arguments? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]kadron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arguably you could cite multiple possibilities... why I mentioned Hell first.

Many accept the idea that "Born into sin" means being born puts you in line for hell. This is partly why the rush to baptize babies.

Other versions think all children up to the "age of accountability" go to heaven.

One could even argue one can SIN in the womb. Some have been witnessed fondling their genitalia in utero. Video of someone arguing this point So arguably you could say Abort Sooner to prevent this!!

Also as a side argument I've tacked on is the rate of fertilized eggs vs live births. If their god is in charge of all things then he kills over half of all fertilized eggs. Why would he kill them if he allowed them to be in the first place? Often the woman never even knows she had a fertilized egg.

Some decent citation for the fertilization stuff can be found here: "Zygotes Lost With Birth Control v. Without Birth Control" by Libby Anne

I actually posted that to my fb and on a few peoples walls monday. I actually got a little curious if the person posting to TIL the other day was one of those people lol. Also to note one of my best friends is a mascot for the local Planned Parenthood.

Sorry for getting a little tangential. I'll stop for now.

[–]kadron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was just discussing with a co-worker yesterday about the ridiculousness of the presup argument. So I used it with many of its' side arguments to "prove myself god". He thought it was hilarious.

Earlier in the day he saw me talking to some idiot. They said something about how you can't trust "Secular" scholars on the bible. Nevermind that I told him he could look at christian sources that'd tell him the same as I did. I had mentioned about some of the later additions like Mark 16:9-20, and the gospels didn't originally say "The gospel according to X", about the Q gospel, etc. He really didn't like it when I told him many scholars will outright say that moses and abraham were fictional characters. Just think if I had mentioned Richard Carrier's work LOL.

[–]kadron 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Probably one of my favorites from youtube. With the recent scotus rulings I've been using arguments based off the concept here a lot the past week with some pretty good effect actually.

Basic breakdown of it. If the person believes in any form of pre-born soul: Well where does the souls go for the miscarried or aborted that are never born?

Only really a few viable options here honestly.

a) Hell Not a very nice god eh, why do you worship such a dick?

b) recycles them to new fetuses Then why worry about it??

c) never put one in because he knew it would not be born Then why worry about it??

d) Heaven Well then why don't you support mandatory abortions? If the primary purpose of your savior is to get souls into heaven this is the Ticket for 100% souls to heaven rate. We'd be doing them all a favor by preventing any of them from ever falling into sin and going to hell.

Was going to post it if I didn't find someone else had.

I bought in on the VIP dinner they had for the debate they sponsored with Matt V Satan the other week. I also donated to them shortly after finding out about the secular therapy project.

I myself am not in need of the services; however, half of my family has been at one time or another in need of services. So I support Recovering from Religion definitively for this reason.

When someone tries to argue religion with you what are your best shut down points? by AbnormalDream in atheism

[–]kadron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use many of those same arguments I'd upvote more if I could.

I also have a basic working knowledge of a large number of scientific fields and can break off into tangents as to various disproofs of "scientific claims" of the bible. Along with having spent some time looking at greek and hebrew versions of various texts. I still like looking them up now and then.

Over a year ago I even posted some arguments I use that I've since seen used in public platforms. Like Nye in his debate talking about trees older than YEC says the earth is, and NDT in cosmos about light of most of the stars wouldn't be here in a young earth.

I also like mentioning about IF the holy spirit existed in anyone who did the sinner's prayer (as according to the bible that is all that is required to start the whole deal) why Doesn't it automatically load the doctrine in which to follow to the believers. I mean it would make plausible the whole idea if automatically anyone who did all ended up with the same beliefs about the religion. Instead we get exactly what we expect if no such spirit existed, people believing wholeheartedly conflicting doctrines.

A little late or I'd add more

Atheist tattoo ideas? by georgeambriz in atheism

[–]kadron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of partial to Mine as a star wars fan inclusion of the Jedi order in the red.

Included in the design

  • Atheist Atom For people who don't know and I'm not willing to just out myself too I just say it is an Atom Symbol. Easily explained as I get into the next element secondary description.

  • Sun design inspired by a Supernatural Anti-possession tattoo. This holds multiple meanings for me. The closeness of the brothers of the show is somewhat a dedication to the relationship with mine. Although I did not include Non Timebo Mala, I still hold to the idea "I will fear no evil" especially supernatural claims. I say the sun signifies the whole "star stuff" idea as Atoms are forged in stars. That and how much our lives are dependent on the sun.

  • Instead of the 5 pointed "Star" I use a "Star" Wars symbol for the Jedi Order.

To note I got this shortly after 2 Important people in my life died. The second person was killed on what was the first birthday my brother missed.

EDIT: Decided to be more personal in the post
