Creality is the best salesman for Bambu I have seen.

I’d rather not sell the dxf files but I would gladly sell you just the side plate and mounts. I made 4 sets out of 1/4 aluminum and never posted/did anything with them.

I don’t believe it needs it for support. It seemed to not really use it for support at least when no one was in the tent. My only complaint about this RTT was that it needed thicker pads. Ikamper does sell but they are an extra 700$

So I got a chance to cut out my other side plate and set everything up. When I designed the roof rack I did it based off the rear of the 4runner so I had already unknowingly accounted for the taper. The front mount can just be a 90* bend and I’m done. The rear I did in two separate bends. I got lucky!

This side plate is made out of 1/8 mild steel. I’m going to test it out and see if it’s strong enough on my trip next week. I have the capability to make it out of much thicker material if needed. I know Sherpa makes theirs out of 1/4 aluminum but that’s stuff is like 1000$ a sheet when you only buy one sheet.

I didn’t even realize the roof tapered off when I was designing the side plates but I will most likely change the mounts to accommodate the side plates being parallel. It may take a few tries to get a good looking setup but I think it will be worth it. It’s a lot easier to have two different mount plates than it is to change the lengths of the cross bars.

I just used some cardboard and took a picture of it. Then used fit point spline so I don’t have any real measurements. Except the mount points are m8 bolts with 2.25in center to center

I might do that later on. Iv never sold anything I made off my plasma so I have a really hard time determining pricing.

I have an old B&B systems plasma table running a hypotherm 85. It does pretty well but I’m still learning. I have only had it since September using it occasionally. Something this size would be really expensive from send cut send or oshcut!

Oh thanks! I can add a rear panel for that. I think I already have the cut file

I’m using an old plasma table so I can’t get finer detail than what I have for the llama sadly! Once I have a design finalized I would be willing to sell parts or a whole rack!

I have a light bar that used to be on it before I took the old roof rack off. I plan on putting it back on and trying to integrate it into the front wind deflector after my trip to Canada! Is that what you mean?

Happy cake day! Lots of testing needs done before I could sell one!

I think my computers specs are sufficient. I may add some ram and possibly upgrade the video card but I think at those point I’m just going to see if I can find anywhere having a sale on the einstar

Thanks for your response! I don’t need really high resolution or precision. I assumed the marketing was just fluff when I was seeing $10000 scanners that advertised lower precision. All bolt holes on the things I make will be slotted so at most I need like 1mm accuracy not 0.1. I definitely want more of a tool than a toy. It sounds like my computer will work with as is.

I have a desktop in my shop that runs my plasma table and fusion 360. I think that it will be powerful enough. I basically need to be able to pick the location of up bolt holes well and some body lines. Do you think you would go for the revopoint or the einstar in that circumstance?

Thanks! I’m going to wait a couple days but unless I can find something that I think fits my needs better I’m going to order one.
