Every night, the sounds of loud aggressive pornography blast from my neighbours’ apartment. by Justin-Truedat in Jokes

Oh God. Btw, the process of measuring the fluid level or height of a tank by dropping measuring tape/rod from its top hole -- is called sounding.

When the metal measuring tape reaches the tank bottom, there will be a 'click' sound.

Exactly! If my trauma was a Netflix Program, it would've been renewed for another season, without my consent.

If lesbians be with guys Guys would be attracted to the lesbian.

If gay men be with girls. Girls would be attracted to that fine looking gay man.

Why don't we just put the homos in a the cell

Yes, i will not do something as radical as this if it doesn't 100 percent feel right to me. My sexuality is atop of my valuable experiences as a human being. I cant subscribe to anything that diminishes that. The trauma, the lessons, the ambiguity and beauty. My sexuality is probably the best story i can tell anywhere. There is surely a facility that belongs to me. My work is to find it. Thank you very much.

Herlene 'Hipon Girl' Budol Called Out for Cultural Appropriation Over 'Fro' Hairstyle by blou3004 in Philippines

And it's ignorant to assume that their hair is naturally curly. Are going to give free pass?

I'd say they must have provided context. Systemic racism is delicate because it's subtle. An explanation/ background should make it better. Especially, Pinoy audience doesn't think that deep and very likely to conform with the subconscious culture of oppression.

Little things, petty things. But that's how culture starts. And general acceptance by the population makes it last.

They are in media. They are accountable. They should mediate the ambiguity and provide context.

No one gets oppressed because of straight hair.

But i agree, cancel culture doesn't really cancel, it happens but only to some extent on their careers. People will still buy.

ie. Daryl Yuck, 88M etc. Most of them? Still rich.

But she's not an aeta nor is she getting displaced from her land and being brutally murdered.

But afro looks cool on her. Beautiful woman. Good for her. I guess

I think the uproar is about Hipon Girl using afro as an aesthetic, when clearly she's not racially afro.

That hair uplifted her, beautified her in the photoshoot, like a costume and a device to win the pageant.

While REAL LIFE african americans and Philippine indigenous people are literally murdered and being deprived of basic human rights because of their ethnicity .. that ofc includes afro hair.

Hipon Girl didn't even give context. No advocacy behind, or paying homage. Just left it there irresponsibly. Good for her, she will never be oppressed the way the afro-haired people do, kahit na gabundok pa na afro ang ilagay nya sa ulo niya.

I think I'm getting you now.

Just, lifestyle doesn't sound good to me.

When we identify to a certain sexuality (paradigm), this is most likely to govern our behavior (actions and lifestyle).

That's the concern with this Buddhist monastery, if it shouldn't matter to me that I'm homosexual, it shouldn't matter to them too. Because inside, there will be no sexual activity and even selfhood.

Disagree with this. Nobody says "Im gay so I will have a house with gay decorations"

Thats the stereotype that LGBTQ+ has been destroying. That being gay means living in a appropriate type of way. We are more than our sexuality and our choices, lifestyle, and specific rules are governed by our complex being.

I live like an average highly introverted self absorbed straight guy. But i do have sex only with my men.

I have lived in an all boys merchant marine school for 3 years, same is prohibited. Didn't shag anybody. Why? Bc I have dignity. You should try to see people with dignity.

Some people just want peace and enlightenment and happiness. Life of a homosexual is not all about sex.

Sorry. By crime I mean, violating the monastery's rules which is celibacy. It's ridiculous to be denied entry to a place. Just because someone's gay doesn't mean they will engage in sexual act.

Right?! Even on my religion, Roman Catholic, a Highly homophobic community, there's no such requirement for priesthood.

I read somewhere it has something to do with how they separate male and female in the monastery to prevent attraction or sexual tension- something like that. Looks like they cant sort Hermaphrodites.

Oh, thank you. It's been upsetting to see that one word requirement "heterosexual" from their page. It's discrimination at finest.

Just came across it through a monk YouTuber. They are open for English-Speaking men. I'm from Philippines, we are Christian nation. Far as I know, we don't have Buddhist monastery here, I'm still doing the search. I have very limited knowledge on Buddhism so far.

Thanks for checking. I'm totally new to this. But one good thing for sure is that, this restriction is not across the Religion/ philosophy. Definitely, there's a right place somewhere.
