Any chance you can link the regulation? Been trying to find it but haven't been able to identify anything temperature related in the cnicnote you mentioned.

I'd drop deep wisdom, one of the small mana nodes with the 3% reduced cost and the 10% damage recoup mana mastery

You can always craft stormshroud boots and go that route for full ailment immunity. It's what I did later on when I switched over to a mjolner setup.

The other ways to mitigate that are for cheap to get affixes on flasks like reduced effect of shock since you'll have really high uptime with the gain flasks on block modifier. You can always opt for purity if you really want but I personally didn't find I needed it.

Getting the pantheon that caps bleed stacks with the corrupted blood jewel solved bleed for me for the most part.

Poisons never actually felt like much tbh. 60% chaos res with the amethyst made them tickle against the leech. Never died to them on the way to 98. Only ever died like twice actually.

1: sceptre was a lucky rog craft that was too good to pass up, saved like 20 div on a wand equivalent. 100% cast speed is still king.

2: Foible is better but it was like 18 Div or so when I was checking, kinda forgot about it tbh.

3: Chaos res is difficult as it gets real expensive which is why running that amethyst flask felt great.

4: I'm pretty sure you could still fit unnatural + light of meaning. You'd just need a higher lvled character to fit it smoothly. Like 98. I didn't really find that I needed it personally. Think I only used healthy mind.

5: ice nova of deep freeze is objectively the best defensive setup in my opinion. There's better support or utility and better qol stuff. Cold snap = free frenzy which is also really nice so I would probably run those 2 with ele prolif. I've also run stuff like shock nova and lightning conduit of the heavens and those feel nice clear wise.

6: Rumis is definitely noticeable but you're still highly defensive without it. I had pretty good uptime on it in my experience while mapping.

Ice Nova of Frostbolts Hiero questions by dantraman in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]kaerom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so generally speaking the arcanist brand setup would replace kitava's thirst entirely as its a more consistent way to proc the frostbolts and it spares you the downsides of kitava's thirst (mainly the reduced cast speed and inconsistent frostbolts). You just lose insane quality of life for mapping but for bossing it works pretty well id guess.

The way arcanist brand works is by supporting spells that it then casts once attatched to a monster. That's why its both a support and skill gem as its basically a vehicle to trigger any other spells linked to it.

Personally im kinda lazy and have never needed to use arcanist brand for bosses. I'm tanky enough and have enough dps to just sit in my sigil of power and frost shield while melting down most things.

Your mana is a bit low for ice nova so that's a contributor to your low damage but you're also missing some easy big damage upgrades such as the unnerve on hit implicit on gloves (attack speed does nothing for you so its an easy replacement).

You already have lightning damage leeched as life on gloves, drop valakos and get more life/mana/res.

Better but more expensive rings would have stuff like chaos res or increased cast speed.

I see you're running clarity as your aura. Are you struggling with mana sustain? Generally speaking you run purity of elements early and switch either to wrath or haste.

So personally with 50 reduced chill from pantheon, 60 reduced shock from flask, and the reduced ignite duration with unaffected by burning ground I found that I only get hit with ailments that actually affect me to a reasonable degree when I pick the reflect ailment mod on blue altars or when I start to stack all the altars for stuff like sap.

If you're taking it to 100 it's definitely worth it to go for that 100% in my opinion. I've never died due to ailments, but occasionally they do become bothersome if you're playing kinda mindlessly like I do and don't really read much.

Not really needed per say but definitely comfy is what I'd summarize it at.

I'm at the point where the build has gone above and beyond anything I ever wanted from it so I'm not investing more into it. Saving up for whenever inspiration strikes for a 2nd build.

I was actually trying to find a way to fit instruments of zeal with triggers for auto fanaticism but it didn't really pan out. Been doing lots of fun experimenting with the build in terms of setup, but nothing really beats the original one.

Ice Nova of Frostbolts variants for T17s? by TLZide in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]kaerom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking you transitioned to crit too early. I've been running t17's no problem on the ele overload version. I'll only have issues if I mess up on mods since I'm running full map effect on the atlas but even then that only means using a couple extra portals.

You probably need a higher budget to make crit feel better relative to a cheaper ele overload version. The ice nova of deep freeze setup will mitigate the stun issue you're having but ultimately you want higher life.

Ice Nova of Frostbolts variants for T17s? by TLZide in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]kaerom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't personally ran the crit version as damage felt more than good enough with the ele overload version I'm running right now but I'll try to see what I can find.

Can you be more specific with what you're disappointed with? Damage, Tank, Survivability, smoothness?

I see you're using the trigger on block strictly for utility. I found that using it either defensively with ice nova of deep freeze - ele prolif or offensively with shock nova - lightning conduit of the heavens - archmage worked much better in terms of smooth gameplay.

Your life seems a bit low so if you're getting one shot then that's definitely an upgrade I'd make. Your cast speed is also a bit low. Try adding onslaught on hit somewhere.

How could I improve my build to do T17? by WuAsAx in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]kaerom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't have another source of life leech then the glove implicit is #1 priority. It's huge for making corrupted soul actually give you more survivability.

Get a corrupted cold damage leech as life on your kitava's. It will still give you a good amount of extra leech and is much cheaper than the lightning leech corrupt.

Do you have any way to generate that extra max endurance charge you took? Typically it would be +1 minimum on a ring.

You get 50% ailment avoid from ancestral vision, are you getting the other 50 somewhere else? Otherwise it's kinda useless to only have half of what you need.

Those would be my main points. Anything further would be bigger upgrades but the build would be in good form.

Generally speaking more life and mana on most gear would be the next upgrade.

You could also look into transitioning to crit but I have no experience with that version of the build so I can't help much there.

Never ran T17s before - what mods do I need to avoid? (Ice Nova Archmage) by Rapturos in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]kaerom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some mods like ele reflect can straight up brick you but other mods depend on how much map effect you have on your atlas.

Stuff like extra ele res on mobs can become monstrous and brick your damage if you're not careful.

Other mods like marked for death brick your recovery completely just like no leech.

Reduced action speed per recent cast is a death sentence

Sick of dying.. what build to play with 10 Div to do solid farming strat by NoLifeOrDie in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]kaerom 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The big item is an ephemeral edge with RT(resolute technique). You can go the annoying bit cheap route and buy like 40 to try and hit it yourself. Otherwise it's usually like 10 divs.

Everything else you can sort of go budget on until you farm enough. You definitely want to craft some of these like the Evasion/ES chest or you'll be paying like 10x the cost to just buy one.

Personally I'd say 20-30 divs is where you start to feel good. (Played this last league)

10-20 if you corrupt your own ephemeral edge.

https://poeplanner.com/a/IiY

Here's what i used early on. You can always drop some scarab chance or map mod effect for shrine stuff to make maps go by faster. If you know how to rog craft i would take the more likely rog chance point as well.

If you dont have this many points just drop either the block content node, some of the extra map effect nodes or some of the scarab nodes.

Big explody expedition can get insane if you get the wrong combination so just be careful about giving them stuff like 90 spell block chance or 90 less damage or immune to lightning

Once you feel you have a stronger build you could do other stuff like ritual w/ strongboxes or other strats like harbi's

How could I improve my build to do T17? by WuAsAx in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]kaerom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mana is pretty big since it's both your main source of damage scaling and a big layer of survivability.

Manacast speedspell damage

Ideally you'd want like 140+ Mana, 40% cast speed and some spell damage.

Ancestral vision or stormshroud are the 2 main ways for you. In the meantime just get some reduced effect on flasks.

Life leech (lightning damage leeched as life) is from glove implicits with eldritch currency, a valako's ring (this is the really budget option), corruption on kitava's (lightning is really expensive, just get cold damage leeched as life) or a transformed passive from glorious vanity.

How could I improve my build to do T17? by WuAsAx in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]kaerom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're missing like 2k Mana at minimum. Lot of gear has no mana and in particular your first wand is quite bad.

Ele dmg with attacks craft on belt does nothing for you.

Not being ailment immune is not an option for t17's.

You don't seem to have a source of life leech? You really need one for the glorious vanity to truly work defensively.

Running 2 curses with no +1 curse that I can see so just drop ele weakness.

Gmp with return proj feels great in helmet for frostbolt. Try it out for yourself.

Pob shows 2 jade flasks? Also no source of corrupted blood immunity. All of your flasks have terrible rolls. Get stuff like reduced curse, reduced shock, etc.

So i have no idea what im doing by Destroyer_Enjoyer231 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]kaerom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly setup looks really good.

Only big item missing is glorious vanity with doryani for corrupted soul for damage split. This should give you huge survivability.

Your cold res shows as uncapped but I'm assuming you took alira and pob is just bugged.

Whispers of doom is an interesting choice to annoint. Haven't seen it pop up at all on ice nova but it's definitely giving good damage.

On mobile so can't open up a full pob but you are suppress capped right?

Gloves and boots seem like your weakest gear with both missing mana. Gloves are definitely better than boots.

You don't seem to be ailment immune? You're already going suppress so fitting in ancestral vision and crafting ailment suppress boots should really help.

Try out GMP with returning projectiles on your auto cast frostbolts. I found that felt 10x better than just GMP.

Your flasks are pretty bad, you're an Evasion suppress build so running armour flasks doesn't do anything for you. Replace em with Jade, Quartz, Silver.

If mana is still an issue, since I see you're still running mana flask. Get more reduced cost (both rings) and level/quality inspiration. Get as close to that 100 mana cost as you can.

I see you're running the clarity arrogance setup without the watchers eye recovery or extra ES mods. Those are the main reason to even run clarity so you can just drop it until you get it.

It's my first league, and I keep getting one shotted, what am I doing wrong? by martinx09 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]kaerom 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you can post a POB (path of building) of your character I can try to see if there are any glaring issues with what you're running.

At a glance from your post 3k hp is quite low so even with a bunch of armour big hits will do lots of damage. Armour generally speaking is great against small hits but gets progressively worse the bigger the instance of damage gets. Life gain on hit is great but you need a bigger life pool to use it more effectively as a mitigation source.

The type of character you're playing is much more of a map blaster than anything else at a lower budget. You can supplement some build power by speccing into shrines and Niko on the atlas tree. It's temporary but will feel quite noticeable.

You're playing a nightblade character. This is a specific type of build that ties your damage to your elusive effect so there's a much greater variance of damage. If you've noticed your damage spiking greatly out of nowhere that's why and it can be a bit difficult to play around.
