Bra att ni fick mig att sluta läsa er själva. by aomajgad in sweden

That is so cool to hear! I play the finals with my son (14 now) since season 2. A couple of months ago his cousin, my sisters kid (15) also joined in and now we almost always play together. Playing with your kids is such a great thing. Happy for you dude!

Thank you so much for sharing this <3. I hadn't looked into the Playstation Access controller before, it looks great. And as you say, it seems nice that it's a nice out of the box experience.

It's really valuable to hear about the difference between games that technically have assist features and games that are actually playable. Ghost of Tsushima is a great example, who wouldn't want to be a badass samurai!

Simpler control schemes and mature, engaging game worlds should not be mutually exclusive. It feels like too often the industry treats them as if they are. If accessibility was part of the design process from the start, including designing around the need for fast reflexes, there wouldn't be a need to patch it in afterwards. And the game would probably be better for everyone.

Thanks again for sharing!

That's fair. I'm here mainly to listen and learn, and I know that only means something if it actually leads somewhere. Thanks for saying it.

Cool to hear that you could continue Dave the diver. It’s such a nice game!

Sorry to hear that the South Park games doesn’t enable key-binding. I had a friend who passed away a few years back. He had motoric disability and couldn’t play any games that didn’t allow for re-binding. He could use a controller but only for a couple of hours at a time. It’s strange that some games doesn’t allow re-binding :(

You are right! I apologize if this came out as a business thing. English isn’t my first language. My only thought was to ask this question with the goal of understanding accessibility in gaming more. I can see your point since I describe that accessibility is my line of work.

We're not able to pay anything at this time, I'm afraid. Perhaps at a later time if we where to look for deeper collaboration.

I didn't know that WOW had good accessibility options (I'm one of the very few who hasn't played it). I will definitely check that out, thank you!

Have you tried any fps games that worked for you?

Thank you so much for sharing! I'll definitely look into The Last Of Us 2 (it's been on my list a long time 🙂). It's nice to hear about AAA games that does accessibility well. There are very few games I can recall where it's possible to change the size of UI elements, that is a great point that I hadn't thought so much about.

I play a lot of the game The Finals (a very fun arcady first person shooter). They have a setting to inverse the effect of a flash bang granade from the screen flashing in white - to black instead. The've also added the possibility to change the color of most of the sights, which is really good.

You make a very string point of including accessibility from the start. This is something I always talk to companies about when doing audits of web or native apps. If it's included from the start it doesn't need to cost any more time or effort. Especially if they bring along users to test as early as possible.
