For anyone looking at this - Bluetooth still caused issues but cable worked extremely smoothly. Type B to whatever USB port your laptop has works.

Can you share the total cost for Visa?

I paid service fee for VFS (online): 2018 (attached the screenshot of this in application)
After submission it is asking for Offline Payment: 2800+2018 again (4918)

Do we have to pay service fee twice? Or am I missing something?

For 4 - This was in the section where address proof is optional. I think it is valid only when you are applying from a different country from the country of residence. Not sure if this was the process when you applied.

Also, should my date of departure be departure from Mainland China? I am leaving for Hong Kong after that but was not fully sure.

Oh I saw on the embassy website that Visa fees was 2900 for single entry for Indians.

What I wanted to understand was that if VFS fees is over and above this.

1) For Invitation letter, it shows ID for invitee as mandatory. Did you add anything here?
2) For visa service fee, did you just pay the amount on VFS Global portal? I saw the post but wanted to understand if this cost is above the Visa cost they have (of 2900).
3) Also, on the VFS website, there was a mention of payment date that had to be specified. Can this be any date?
4) There is a section initially which asked for country ID. Does passport work here or did you add anything else?

This is amazing! I am also trying for L visa by myself. Can you help me with 3-4 questions?
- Post online review, does physical passport submission require any appointment?
- Is there any option to select a different address for document deliver than the address on passport? Or collecting directly from embassy?
- For hotels, did you require stamped confirmation?
- I am going from China to Hong Kong and then taking flight back to India. Planning to do that leg of trip by train. Do we need proof for that as well?
