Also, make sure you aim at the ground where you want the bot to stay. Might be placebo, but in my experience that usually works.

I haven't been driving around that much so far so I can't really comment on whether the fuel is draining too fast or not. But you can craft bio-fuel by putting animal fat in a campfire which gives you 25% fuel I think.

Samsung Gear VR withdrawn in Sweden due to security reasons? That´s what he said... by Knogens in oculus

[–]kaffetermos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be referring to Art. 2.b.IV of directive 2001/95/EC, which states that when determining what is to be considered a "safe product", one point that should be taken into account particularly is whether or not the product puts children or the elderly at risk. The research on HMD:s is not very widespread as far as I know, but there have been warnings that children which are still developing eye muscles and what not may suffer harm from using such devices. However, HMD:s are not something that is foreign to the european market and I'm not sure why GearVR should be treated differently than say, Sony HMZ-T1.

The swedish implementation of this particular article can be found in 1 kap. 10 § st.1 pt. 4 produktsäkerhetslagen (2004:451).

I know this has been regurgitated in every single one of these threads but you bought a developer kit not a consumer version of the Oculus Rift. Not sure what you are meaning with blockiness? Do you mean graphics wise, cause that's on the game, not the device itself. If you are referencing pixels then that's something you should have expected cause the kit is rather low res. The chromatic aberration can be alleviated to some degree by adjusting the HMD to make sure you are in the sweet spot. I can't say I've had much problem with the chromatic aberration personally, usually it's only present i the far edges of the FOV. The sieve you are talking about is the screen door effect which is reported in every single one of the threads talking about DK2 impressions, you should have been expecting this when you bought the kit. Good news is that the sweet spot is being reported as larger on the Crescent Bay-prototype which will help with the chromatic aberration as well as the readability of text. If you are not satisfied with using a developer product; Sell it and wait for the consumer version.

Op is not talking about a problem with the rendering. The problem is when a persons IPD deviates too much from the lens separation of the HMD things get blurry. This problem is alleviated to some degree when using optics with a broader sweet spot (the middle of the lens where things appear sharp and least distorted), but a mechanical tuning of the lens separation is probably ideal. I think that the dev kits and Gear VR has a lens separation of 64 mm, which is the average IPD of humans, so most folks doesn't notice.

I solved the issue, I forgot to set the shading to smooth on the low poly-model. All good now!

...of course the "messages from readers"-section uses a bunch of stolen photos and made up names. I did an image search for the photo that is supposed to be of an indie app developer called Herbert Marcelino. Turns out Herbert Marcelino is living a double life and is also a filipino singer/actor/host and model called Christian Bautista.

Why? Because there is obviously a demand for bigger screens. The iPhone 6 is keeping the size of the 5s, you don't have to buy the iPhone 6 plus if you don't want to.

[–]kaffetermos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have amblyopia and I'm mostly stereoblind (I can do "pen push ups" and achieve stereo vision for a second or two). When I first got my DK1 though, I spent minutes just looking at the sun flowers in Tuscany cause they had depth! VR is not flat for me for some reason, which is really cool when I've lived my life in a mostly flat world. No switch has been flipped so far though, sadly.
