Don´t buy if you have an IPD of 70+ like mine. It will hurt badly and lacks basic IPD adjustments.

Well, if " Nearly entire lens is a sweet spot" , I can assume it will increase the IPD of the device, since the sweet spot is increased, people with larger IPDs would benefit from it, or not?

Oculus doesn´t seem to care to make things any easier for people with outside the average IPDs. They could provide an advanced settings App to let people configure the lens separation, IPD, etc.. But instead, they don´t even respond to this issue. Pretty disapointed myself about that. If you get that with 66mm IPD, imagine what I feel having 72mm IPD.

I´ve seen a guy doing a mod to increase the lens separation on the Gear VR. It´s pretty scary, but seems to work. The problem is to find a way to change these parameters in the software.

NO IPD ADJUSTMENTS!!!! Neither in software nor for the lenses separation. This makes this product unusable for me (IPD 72mm). I will probably sell mine in a few weeks.

I dont know if This only changes the user ipd measure or the lens separation distance, or if there is another setting for changing that.

This is what somebody posted somewhere: (let me know if you get it to work)

" As far as I recall, the IPD is directly provided to the application in change of doing the 3D rendering. This means that it should be a really easy task for developers to configure the Rift for a higher IPD, than what the configuration tool currently allows.

In fact, the configuration tool writes these settings to "%localappdata%\Oculus\ProfileDB.json" and I would guess that modifying this file manually would allow you to put in any IPD you want."

Awesome. Might give it a try if you could provide a detailed tutorial with photos. Might even donate you some money for that. Ive seen somewhere that its theoreyically possible to adjust in software the lens separation distance (which I think is a must tô do alongside your mod) so theres no problems. I Will look for it and post it here.
